You can use the advice in the parent post of this thread: http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5921 If you run the command dmesg, you will probably see that linux detects the card and uses the saa7134 driver card. You'll also probably see messages that the card has no eprom and that you ...

It's a common misconception people have that they will get "camera fps" = "capture chip fps" / "# of cameras on chip". To make matters worse, some manufactures and some vendors advertise this. The truth is there is a lag when a capture chip on a card changes ports. This...

I get that whenever I add another camera to a port on a chip shared with other cameras without restarting Zoneminder.

Have you tried restarting Zoneminder?

It is normal when you have OPT_FAST_DELETE under the system options checked. OPT_FAST_DELETE tell's zoneminder to simply delete the database records of an event when you delete them in the WebUI. The ZMAUDIT daemon in the background will periodically check for event folders of events that have been ...

I noticed a lag of PTZ commands on my Airlink 747W when I was using mjpeg stream and lowered the frame rate through Zoneminder. The lag went away if I didn't lower the frame rate through zoneminder and set the frame rate on the camera itself.

I installed the firmware update on Airlink's website on my 747W and Zoneminder (1.24.2) was able to access the camer's mjpeg stream when I set "Remote Host Path" to /cgi/mjpg/mjpg.cgi I'm getting ~24-27 fps on the camera through Zoneminder now. Airlink the gave the download an odd name of ...

Out of curiosity, have you guys tried using V4L2 on Zoneminder 2.4.2 and have the same problems? I recently switched from V4l1 to V4l2 (Device Format: NTSC, Capture Palette: RGB555, Capture Size 640x480) and so far I haven't noticed any lines at all. I probably need to make a lot of movement in fron...

I have the same artifacts on my PV-155. They're not too bad though and only occurs once in awhile. I think it's an issue with heat. The bt878 chips run really when running at the max resolution, and/or running high frame rate. If you touch them while zoneminder is running, it might be hot to almost ...

Oh, I'm sorry, I was thinking the pv-981 was a 8 chip card. So I was thinking you had 16 chips for you 16 cameras.

Try setting CAPTURES_PER_FRAME (under the config tab in the settings windows) to 2 to see if that eliminates the artifacts.

Make sure you have just one camera on each capture chip in your two cards. To verifiy this, set all your monitiors to use device channel zero. The artifacts in your picture look a lot like artifacts that occur in Zoneminder 1.24.x when you have more than one camera on a capture chip and you have the...

Most likely you can use either V4L1 and V4L2. I use V4L1 on my Ubuntu 8.10 server box (Kernel 2.6.27). V4L2 worked for me to, I just needed to go through the different capture palettes to find the correct one. If you're CentOS is using kernel 2.6.25, then you might need to use V4L2. That kernel that...

I have a PV-155 and I use "options bttv card=77,77,77,77". Make sure that the V4L_MULTI_BUFFER option is unchecked. You can find V4L_MULTI_BUFFER in the 'Config' tab under settings. Make sure you restart zoneminder by clicking on the "Running" in the Zoneminder Console page and s...

Making a close source CCTV DVR doesn't make Bluecherry a competitor of Zoneminder. Bluecherry can sell what ever they want and still sell Zoneminder compatible products and still support the Zoneminder community. Having actual vendors like Bluecherry in the Zoneminder community if very helpful for t...
