Re: Analyze sub-stream, Record Main stream

There may be a way to kill off the "false" events with a filter (purge with extreme prejudice anything on the unwanted camera older than X mins/hours).

Re: Analyze sub-stream, Record Main stream

My question is would it make sense to to use both streams? The sub-stream for analysis and record the actual event based on the main stream? Not tried this, but, I believe "linked cameras" is what you're looking for. Something along the lines of :- Create "monitor" 1a, point it ...

Re: Ubuntu 12.04.03 LTS , USB Video Capture Device busy ?

That output confuses *me*. So it sure as heck isn't going to please ZoneMinder. As an ordinary user though, it shows nothing using it, so I suspect that nothing within Linux *is* using it. Not having tried using VMs e.g. VirtualBox, I'm not sure where you go from there -- the problem doesn't appear ...

Re: Ubuntu 12.04.03 LTS , USB Video Capture Device busy ?

Setting Zoneminder aside for a minute, can you see the output from the camera in something like VLC or tvtime etc. that can access a Video For Linux device? Or something like ffmpeg to grab from it by hand if you don't have them installed. (Something like ...) ffmpeg -aspect 4:3 -s 640x480 -vc 1 -tv...

Is there anything that might be upsetting your network in general, making it busy, dropped packets, a WIFI link anywhere that may be getting jammed out?

Re: Interesting picture

there is no mechanical object, no IR Cut filter. At night mode i have BW picture. If your colours look good during the day, you have an IR cut filter fitted, I can assure you things look odd without one. Trees glow brighter/greyer. Black clothing often looks grey. Some reds are not the right rednes...

Re: Interesting picture

Sorry, but did not exactly understand you. What do you mean with moving IR cutter? I have only this one camera. The CAM is a AVTECH AVN257 (Network CAM). On ZM i have 5fps setup (and also 5fps by the CAM setup), which should be ok. "after the camera is switching from night to day mode" Mo...

Re: Viewing on the internet.

Hi, Security is another step, he was asking how to get to the server from internet... This is another step, install fail2ban and ufw to ban ip addresses trying to get into your system. I could help you there. Regards, Paco I know, and I didn't disagree with what you posted. Other than a static IP a...

Re: Viewing on the internet.

and that is all! Nearly all: You may wish to review the security settings on the web-server that now has its sensitive bits dangling out onto the internet. I don't think ZoneMinder comes with settings that will secure the rest of your (say) Apache server, so make sure you lock down everything else ...

Re: Cant see files written by ZM on NAS

Well i finally got my NAS linked and working, i can navigate to the folder and see the folders it is making within Zoneminder HOWEVER, when i try and view the folders/files from a windows PC it seems like they dont exist, I assume its the permissions as ZoneMinder is writing the data but no idea on...

Re: Events no longer being created since linking to NAS

Saw your post in the other thread ... I see you have a smarter NAS than I thought then, if it provides NFS access it probably has a linux-friendly file system underneath, none of this FAT32 nonsense, so you should be better off now. I was worrying/assuming that you had a cheaper one, like mine, that...

Take a look here first ...

http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewto ... 30&t=21899

and I wonder if whoever wrote that guide you followed has no idea how crappy some of these NAS boxes are, maybe understandably, when trying to Unixy things on a FAT filesystem "inside the box".
