I track all images by their time stamp. So if I see an image that has a time stamp that I have processed previous images for that date/time I compare that current image to those previously processed images and if I find a match I don't use it. Brute force I know but best I could do under the circums...

Thanks, was not aware of the zmupdate.pl step, what does that do? And of equal importance, once that is done what if I have to go back to 1.24.2?? So if I pull the svn again tomorrow and something in it changed I need to do the zmupdate.pl again. Never knew that, but then, never had pulled code that...

Ok, wrote my own Perl script to do this. Pulling info from the DB and making sure frames aren't duplicated from the end of one event to the beginning of the next event when concatenating them.

Works pretty slick. Soon as I can write up a little operating explanation I'll post it.

1.24.3 configure no --enable-sockets?

Pulled the svn code, must say it compiles a lot cleaner then 1.24.2 on openSuSE 11.2 or 11.3, didn't have to make any changes to the source code to accomplish that. (Did in 1.24.2.) But when running configure with: ./configure --with-ffmpeg --with-libarch=lib64 --with-mysql=/usr --with-webdir=/srv/w...

Yeah I have to agree with you, having that granularity and precision of time stamp for each image in the DB would be a plus.

Yes I was asking natively, and I went down that path, writing a Perl script. But in your example, if I understand it correctly, you would tell it how many images to skip at the end of event 1 or beginning of event 2 so as to not have duplicates. But how do you know how many that would be? If might b...

I curious about your comment regarding 1.24.3 being upcoming? I've been looking around periodically and never see any info on 1.24.3 or any development going on at all? Maybe I'm just missing it. But it be nice to see what's coming what's changed what's added etc. and when it might be available. Bee...

Is it possible to generate video containing multiple Events?

If I have have a number of events that occurred in close succession one right after another is it possible to generate a single video from all those events? I haven't been able to determine how to do that if there is a way to do it. And without having duplicate frames? I've noticed that the last sec...

So are the developers actively addressing and correcting this issue?

I've had occasion where the longer pre-buffer was needed.

MySQL error when Pre Event Img Cnt set close to Img Buff Sz

In Source -> Buffers if I have Image Buffer Size (frames) set to 200 Pre Event Image Count set to 180 Post Event Image Count set to 180 The following occurs: Nov 9 12:38:58 router zma_m12[1804]: INF [IP7330: 741 - Gone into prealarm state] Nov 9 12:38:58 router zma_m12[1804]: INF [IP7330: 743 - Gone...

Thanks. But I was hoping that I could set zmaudit, zmdc, zmfilter, zmwatch, & zmupdate to directly use syslog like zoneminder itself does and not open and keep open and write their own files as they currently do. And I saw nothing in that documentation that indicates that can be done. But the lo...

Notes to compile and install ZM 1.24.2 on openSuSE 11.3

Just adding this with the above Subject so searches find it. Take a look at this thread http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=15309 Sort of a running blog. I started it based on my experience compiling it and getting it working on 11.2 then added the differences to get it working again on...

Notes to compile and install ZM 1.24.2 on openSuSE 11.3

Just in case anyone is referencing this to compile on open SuSE 11.3. For one don't create the /usr/include/ffmpeg/ and all the links in it as stated above and if you have created that directory and the links delete them and it when compiling on openSuSE 11.3. Especially of you see configure: WARNIN...

(How to?) Rotate log files

So how do you rotate off the zmaudit.log, zmdc.log, zmfilter.log, zmwatch.log, & zmupdate.log log files without stopping ZoneMinder? They all have a channel open from their respective processes and not from syslog so moving them out and creating new ones like I do with syslog log files then HUP'...
