That is odd - must be a debian specific thing? I'm using the 1.22.3-9 package from Peter Howard on Ubuntu 7.04 and I can add new monitors. Of course, when you define the user you have to enable "edit" mode for monitors rather than "view". Skyking, you mentioned a "permission...

I thought Wurfl was deprecated in favor of the format=xhtml option? At least I thought I read that somewhere...but I might just be going crazy.

There's also this:

http://www.swen.uwaterloo.ca/~drayside/altinput/

gives 3 buttons, maybe a "restart" and then a couple of zmpkg state options, like "arm" and "disarm".

I see that from time to time on 1.22. Not sure why it's there, but now I've customized my montage view image sizes to be smaller than 320x240 so that 10 monitors fit on my screen, and I don't see the lines anymore (the images sit right next to each other). I figured it was a css bug, but never bothe...

I wonder if reducing the frame rate, to say 1fps for each camera, would be one way to test if heat is the problem? I have seen this on one of my cams before and so far I've always attributed it to the cheap camera, but I'm planning to do more testing in the coming weeks.

Most likely a shared memory and/or permissions problem. Set your sources to 320x240 and look up "chmod 666 /dev/video0" for details. There's an ubuntu walkthrough here in the forums; the first page or two of that thread has some good info. I'd write more but it's vacation and that should a...

There's also a post in these forums (search) for deleting items over a certain number of days old. I like that one in addition to PurgeWhenFull because while I don't want to keep things more than say 2-3 weeks, PurgeWhenFull would keep the box running if something were to go wrong, like birds nestin...

Hi Phil, I don't think it's something specifically in ZM; I actually had it working perfectly yesterday, and I have been trying to figure out what might have changed since then (assuming I broke something). I know I rebooted, which shouldn't have caused any problems. Also, manual video generation *i...

Videos working, but not when filter generated

I had this working yesterday; been tweaking things a bit (of course...) and now I can generate videos using the web interface just fine, but when I have a filter generate an email that then uses %EV% to email me the video, the video is un-playable. Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Play...

James...sorry, it wasn't clear I was joking. I have my idle/alarm fps set to 4 and 8, respectively. Fps varies a bit based on system load, etc. so if I specify 24 frames of post capture, I won't necessarily get 3 seconds (though the fps variance does seem small enough that it probably doesn't matter...

Thanks James, I had been wondering the same thing lately, and as a ZoneMinder newbie it never occurred to me that "I want to extend recordings" should equate to "extend post event image buffer". :D I had been looking for a setting called "minimum modect record time" or ...

The answer is probably shared memory. Take a look at the Wiki for details. I think everyone who installs ZM for the first time experiences this. :) You also need to be sure that your capture string resolution (the URL) is the same as the resolution in the monitor source tab. In other words, if you c...

I wonder if your disk filled up? Can you login to the box, either locally or via SSH and run a "df" to see how much space you have?

edit: better yet, "df -h" (human-readable)
