Re: ZM crash every 10 seconds

Hi sagil! For a video surveillance it is enough to have < 10 FPS. As you can see from ffplay log, Rockedge was right. Bad RTP stream, a lot of missed packets, quite a bit of >10 missed packets in sequence. Try with lower FPS, except you have fast moving targets (car plates recognition). When errors ...

Re: ZM crash every 10 seconds

:) Don't worry, you came to the right place, to help you.
The other is bad  (chip China  ) camera as Rockedge (the respected developer) replied. There is no help for that.

Re: ZM crash every 10 seconds

I have ZM-1.30.0 on Debian and today: uptime = 13:16:37 up 330 days, 18:05 Since I solved cameras issues this is "set and forget" system, rock solid. I only watch some recorded events occasionally. The most "work" regardless the whole system is cleaning camera lenses off spider's...

Re: ZM crash every 10 seconds

Sorry for an unclear advice regarding VLC. With the settings you used in ZM try to watch video with VLC or ffplay: For instance: ffplay.exe rtsp://admin:PASSWORD@Camera1_IP/0 -rtsp_transport tcp and the other camera: ffplay.exe "rtsp://admin:PASSWORD@Camera2_IP/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&sub...

Re: ZM crash every 10 seconds

"time since last capture 13 seconds" - it's obvious, that camera failed, not ZM. I had similar problems with my camera. Cameras are very sensible on stream capture settings. I own two cameras and works perfectly with "source type = ffmpeg" the other one worked a few hours, then s...

Re: 1.31 and H.264 video storage

Hi knnniggett! I'm planing to install a new NUC with new stable ZM. As you posted "yes it will be part of the next release" I wonder when will that happen? The master branch commits are relatively rare and minor - A am aware of a small developers group working voluntarily on that excellent...

Re: ZM hardware video accelerated

Hi XabiX! As I later discovered, ZM do not have any video acceleration options to set up. All is done in ffmpeg dependent library. The library must be recent and HW acceleration must be enabled at compile time. Distribution I use did not have HW acceleration enabled, so I asked the ffmpeg lib mantai...

Re: day/night IP bandwidth load

Point for you - I looked for a resolution and price only.
After a year of experiments & use, now I know how tu buy next one.
The first failure was sphere plastic shield and so "night bubbles".
Now I have a list of "not to" features.

Re: day/night IP bandwidth load

Thanks Baylink! That's the reason, I would never think of. Looks like this vendor did not reduce night noise successfully. The other camera from different vendor is excellent regarding this issue. Will try some settings on cameras web page - trade off regarding night sharpness, contrast.. Already se...

ZM hardware video accelerated

Hi!

As all modern Intel CPUs contain hardware video acceleration and it is supported in ffmpeg, I wonder, how to enable that in ZM to offload CPU.
It's about h.264 and h.265 video streams processing, and https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Hardware/QuickSync

Any idea?

Re: day/night IP bandwidth load

Yes, that is the reason for my post. Read the first post carefully. You can see the difference in IP traffic and one of four CPU load at attached Monitorix log pictures for 24 hours. From 19. to 20. 7. 2017. You can clearly see, when the night mode with IR LEDs switch on (high IP traffic and high CP...

Hi! Now master branch git includes the feature described in the first post (storage tab in monitor configuration), so I post here. git source from today, last Commit from today, knnniggett https://github.com/ZoneMinder/ZoneMinder/commit/108be3b05f751f27eb4f46b38f2859e029dacc2f Compiled on Slackware6...

Re: git - ZM database not consistent with code

Confirmed working on Slackware.
zm.conf line
#ZM_PATH_BIN=/usr/bin
Created a new file in /etc/zm/conf.d and added above line without comment.
zoneminder works.

Excellent when options --> config PATHS will be moved here.

p.s.: have you noticed my new avatar?

Regards

Re: git - ZM database not consistent with code

Ha Ha guinea pig :-) - very warm metaphor, I like it. Just hope, not become so dirty  In our country we say "pig at feeding trough" for someone near feeding trough - some people allowed taking from budget without control at the expense of others not so "powerfull". Could you...
