Re: Corrupted frames every couple minutes. using RTSP Stream

Try these instead; (Standard for foscams, although it's possible yours is a weird one, I think these should work) http://IP/videostream.cgi An mjpg feed http://IP/snapshot.cgi A static jpg feed that's good for about 3-5fps (In monitor; set http, then host = the ip address. path = everything includin...

Re: Default event view - changed?

Thank you RichardK. My version (1.25, debian 7) had a slightly different layout, having this instead of the second line; array( "attr" => "DateTime", "op" => ">=", "val" => "-1 hour" ), Commenting it out and inserting the two lines you gave...

Default event view - changed?

I've run 1.24.2 and .3 for years, but recently on installing a new box I was pleased to see 1.25 has made it into the official debian repos. The package installs fine, and all works fine, apart from one different. When I click a list of events for a monitor, the "index.php?view=events" pag...

Re: Help Using Dedicated Hard Drive

Not sure what's happened there - do /dev/video* files actually exist with the same permissions they did before? I can only assume the udevd rules are somehow breaking things. If you've followed my guide here http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/Using_a_dedicated_Hard_Drive - that describes mount...

Re: Custom montage killing my ZM server

What's the load on the server during this? In case that's what's going high, take a look at http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/IpCamMontage which is similar, but takes mjpeg feeds directly off the camera. This will move the streaming of all your ip cams off the server, and you can view your an...

Re: Saving Videos created by FFMPEG to new location

This was a question that came up on irc recently, and we guessed at an answer but didn't actually try it. Zoneminder options has a setting for "ffmpeg options". It *may* be possible to set an output directory in there, or to modify the output filename to include a path, which would apply t...

Another forum spambot attack overnight. Fortunately since the last time cordel has increased my admin rights and I now have the "delete all posts by user" which speeded up cleaning hugely. Following accounts have been banned, each created in Sept '12 amattnagen acekrysiamania seywinnopedcop

Re: No picture on ZoneMinder! (using wanscam and WGCA54 Link

The shared memory tweak is what you NEED to do unless you're using a newer build with mmap enabled, if you want to view streams > 320x240

The php issue is a warning. Google will tell you how to tweak that, and it's discussed elsewhere in this forum too, but it shouldn't cause zm not to work.

Usual problem is; http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.ph ... esolutions.

If not that, read the faq and if still not sorted, we're going to need some logs to help diagnose.

Re: Multiple Hard Drives

You can't "add" another drive to ZM's storage in the sense of topping it up. There needs to be a single point, which by default is in /var, is easy to move to another drive or resource mounted locally, or if you needed serious storage, raid would indeed be the answer. You can move zm's mou...

Re: Many monitors with one controlled camera

What is the rationale for this? If security, it would seem to be a poor choice as you have a huge chance of missing action. Also, the motors will wear out very quickly. IP Cameras are cheap enough now, I would urge installing enough to cover what you need to with static cams. Appreciate this isn't a...

Re: Many monitors with one controlled camera

Not sure exactly what you mean. You can add duplicate feeds to an ip camera (with some rare examples). I use this to have modect and 24/7 recording off the same cam, sometimes at different sizes. If you mean have the camera recording two streams from two different camera positions at the same time, ...

Re: Thousands of Blue Screen events on remote IP cameras

In a shell session from the same server, start pinging one of the problematic cameras and leave it for some time, perhaps a day. Come back, hit ctrl+c and look to see how many dropped packets. Anything other than 0 means there's something wrong with the network, camera or server's connections and th...
