Re: As fps Increases Zoneminder Live Feed Becomes More Delayed

Please clarify.
The subject seems to be at odds with the description.
Also, version of ZM and OS.

WEB_EVENT_DISK_SPACE

Options.Web.WEB_EVENT_DISK_SPACE has a text field for data entry.
Shouldn't that be boolean?

The Experienced Newby – Full disk crash

The Experienced Newby – Full disk crash This might seem trite to the experienced Linux admin, so to those folks I apologize for what may seem completely obvious and mundane. I’m a Linux convert from about 4 years back and mostly for desktop usage. Using ZoneMinder (ZM) was my first real server based...

Re: 1.30.2 Test Results - Cycle

Sorry, been on the road for work and haven't had the chance to get back to this.... Dug a little deeper into this. It appears that the changes in 1.30 actually exposed configuration errors in my various setups. When a camera is mechanically rotated, the cameras config needs to match as well. I was c...

1.30.2 Test Results - Cycle

Cycle does not honor the configured aspect ratio of a given monitor/camera.

v1.30.2
Ubuntu Server 16.04
MariaDB

Changing the DEFAULT_ASPECT_RATIO around does not affect the results above.

Thanks

ONVIF - Multiple Ethernet Ports

1.30.2 Test results

ONVIF seems to only probe the ethernet interface the Web Site is on.
I typically build a separate network adapter for the "camera net" for various reasons.

Is this expected behavior?
Can ONVIF have the option to search a particular network or ethernet port?

Re: Testing Results - Camera Orientation and Zones

Agreed, it is trivial. How often do you change orientation once the build is up.... Easily addressed at that time.

Just advise anyone UPGRADING to 1.30 that you check ALL zones to make sure they are in bounds or modetect does not work.

Re: Skipping frames at start of alarm

I've found this to be a result of inadequate buffers for your source. On the buffer tab for your cam that's dropping frames make sure that the Image Buffer Size (frames) is at least the sum of Warmup Frames + Pre Event Image Count + Post Event Image Count. This eats into /dev/shm so keep an eye on t...

Re: Testing Results - Camera Orientation and Zones

Also note, upgrading from 1.28.1 to 1.30.0 will require you adjust all your zones as any that were setup on sources not in "normal" orientation will likely be out of bounds and modetect will not work.

Testing Results - Camera Orientation and Zones

I've got a 1.28.1, 1.30.0 and 1.32.2 running and made the following observations while testing/upgrading and comparing. Ubuntu 16.04 Server. These observations are with Hikvision IP cameras of various models using ffmpeg source type. Starting in 1.30.0 it seams zm is auto recognizing the orientation...

POE Injector Block Install

This was early in the install, all blocks are full now :)

I like injectors over POE switches just to separate the points of failure. Backup power supplys are less costly than backup POE switches.

Install uvcdynctrl and read the manual for command line control.

Install guvcviewer and change things with a gui.

Re: Seeking hardware recommendations for (12) 1920p IP camera system

@knnniggett, You bring up some interesting configuration ideas. Maybe a sticky topic could be created for examples of real live server configurations for different sized systems. Kind of a Best Practices topic for different sized systems. For this to be a success (IMHO) it needs to assume not everyo...

When is it time for Multi Server?

I've got an implementation with 16 ip cameras with dual streams. The server (Ubuntu - zm1.29) is a Xeon 32G and stripped SSD. LowRes 320x240@4fps (MoDetect) HiRes 1920x1080@10fps (NoDetect - linked) Updated to MariaDB. It runs at 50-55% CPU utilization and peak at 90% during heavy alarm load. I'm no...

61 Alarm 19:47:56 4.00 50
62 Alarm 19:47:58 5.90 50

I'm using the MariaDB instead of MySQL.
Do the innodb still not apply?
