POPUP_ON_ALARM for Chrome and SOUND_ON_ALARM for montage view

Introductary Banter Hi everybody. So neither of these features were working properly for me. Well, SOUND_ON_ALARM was, but not for montage view. The pop-up on alarm never worked for me either. I spent the last couple of days figure out how to hack them into shape. I don't really know JavaScript or ...

Re: WEB_POPUP_ON_ALARM doesn't (and has never) work

Was kind of hoping to find a Linux-based browser that it would work for at least. I've managed to find a workaround at least. if ( POPUP_ON_ALARM ) { if (navigator.userAgent.indexOf('Chrome/') > 0) { if (window.detwin) { window.detwin.close(); window.detwin = null; } } window.detwin = window.open('h...

SV3C 1080P IP66, PoE, Dome Camera for $45? or ReoLink RLC-420 for $60?

Hey I'm looking around for some PoE cameras. I don't need anything fancy, and in fact would like to strip as much bells and whistles off as I can to take price down. These are within my budget range for cameras, and claim they're ZoneMinder compatible, but just wondering if anyone here has experienc...

WEB_POPUP_ON_ALARM doesn't (and has never) work

Okay so I was looking through options to get my browser window to alert me on motion, I got the sound working, but this WEB_POPUP_ON_ALARM doesn't seem to work at all. I've searched, and all I can find is a handful of threads that were either never replied to, or explaining that your browser must su...

Re: Instant notification on alarm

Cool! I only just realized that the alerts weren't really instantaneous. I also like that this enables you to send it to multiple email addresses. Is there any way you think you could modify this to send a notification to one email address or another based on which zone was triggered? So for example...

Re: Another Schedule Question

I'd be curious to see what you come up with. I use ZoneMinder with one single monitor that is a 4 channel DVR so everything I do is by zone only and not by monitor. Would really help me out to do something similar.

Re: Can't initiate email notifications

Thank you for the tip/advice to filter logs to zmfilter events! So... here's what I see (and just after forcing an alarm): 2017-11-22 11:08:14.201110 zmfilter 29852 INF Scanning for events zmfilter.pl 2017-11-21 12:35:14.424170 zmfilter 13712 INF Scanning for events zmfilter.pl 2017-11-20 11:45:32....

Re: Can't initiate email notifications

You set your filter to run in the background right? Open up the Log and force an alarm, then copy and past so we can see what ZM is doing. If you set the "Filter Log - Copmonet" drop-down to zmfilter.py, you should see entries like this... Date/Time Component Server PID Level Message File ...

Filtering and Gapless Events

So I'm running Zoneminder with one monitor that is an S-Video source of my 4 channel analog DVR system. I have zones setup for each different camera on places I want to monitor such as my BackPorch, my Porch/Walk, and my BedroomDoor and BathroomDoor (inside). I setup a filter to exclude anything tha...

Special Use Scenario: Zoneminder and an old Swan analog DVR

So they say a picture is worth a thousand words... https://i.imgur.com/PE6r0hj.png I have this from the TV-Out of the analog DVR going into my capture card on the PC running ZoneMinder, and have setup these zones on the three cameras I have. I've figured out that I can filter out according to which ...

Re: Thinking about ways to improve my security system...

Here is a photo of an IP camera. There are two connectors shown, a RJ-45 port and a power connector. The user has two options. They can power the device through a POE Switch in which case the power connector is not used. The other option is to use a router (or non-POE switch) plus an external power...

Re: Thinking about ways to improve my security system...

Concurring with King! You mean the router would not read the analog signal right? I was talking about when I do eventually get some IP Cameras, can they be connected to any random switch and use the 5v ethernet power? Just wondering because it didn't seem like enough power to me. It may fry the rou...

Re: Thinking about ways to improve my security system...

A balum is an adapter. I believe it ups the frequency of the analog signal. It allows you to use category 5 (5e) wiring but the signal itself remains an analog signal. A wire carrying the signal cannot be connected to a router. The advantage of wiring this way are two fold. First the range is longe...

Re: Thinking about ways to improve my security system...

That's a whole lot of words I don't know the meaning to. Balum? Is there a special kind of switch needed for these or is it like any regular ethernet switch?
