Sorry, I've got 5 of them working RTSP on 1.24.2/karmic, used the rtsp preset and they all worked fine. Mine allow anonymous viewers, so perhaps authentication's the issue.

There ya go. Pop that in your favorite job scheduler, and bookmark the file in your browser. That's assuming, of course, that /var/www is where your webserver's looking, if it's not, change appropriately.
Code: Select all
#!/bin/sh
du -sh /var/www/events/* > /var/www/spaceused.txt

h234 topic hijacking
Has anyone had any luck outputting H264? I kept hearing that it's the latest, greatest codec, makes much smaller output files, brings you breakfast in bed, etc. But after trying a variety of output options to ffmpeg, the best I could come up with something that had the same quality as the normal qui...

the Preload package
Anyone else using Preload? It theoretically keeps a cache in memory of frequently used programs & libraries, learning over time what's used the most frequently. It could be something else, but after a couple of weeks of preload, my system (core 2 quad, mix of 42 cams) went from an average load o...

Output h264 sorta solved
Found the magic button, needed to add "-vpre libx264-lossless_slow" to the path in zm's options. Obviously one would want to either edit said preset, or use a different one. I found mine in /usr/local/share/ffmpeg/ but your mileage may vary. Yeah, definitely need to edit. Using those setti...

Output h264 videos
Has anyone had success with outputting h264 videos instead of the usual formats? I'm under the impression that this might be a better option for dumping off old events onto backup storage, especially where modetect isn't being used. My ffmpeg's compiled with support for libx264, ffmpeg -formats list...

Exporting/backups
Might not be a horrible idea for exporting/backing up old events, though. I haven't found a backup script I'm happy with yet, might try cobbling one together that spits it out that way into a backup table, and has an import to take it back in/split it into folders. Would be a nice feature.
