Re: Ubuntu 16.04 Release with Zoneminder 1.29.0
#mysql -u root -p mysql: [ERROR] unknown variable 'sql_mode=NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION' Any ideas ???? Question still open. Yes; there's an error in the wiki instructions . The sql_mode = NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION directive should go in the [mysql d ] section (i.e. with a 'd' not without!). I've edited th...

Re: Avoid events when switch to infrared mode
I'd do as Steve suggested - add a small ' preclusive ' zone in an area that should never change in any circumstances other than a wholesale event that affects the whole image (e.g. IR transition, other lights turning on/off, etc). I would imagine that tackling this any other way could compromise the...

Re: API on Debian
Unfortunately I am unable to install additional packages on this machine at the moment (configuration control) and so can't bring in all of the necessary dependencies to complete the build from source. I'll hold fire for the time being as I don't want to waste your time if I can't at least match the...

Re: API on Debian
Thanks for the offer Asker. Unfortunately I'm not in a position help you (help me) but I really appreciate the offer nevertheless.
Hopefully the Debian maintainer will respond to Steve's nudge. Perhaps I was a little too quick to upgrade to 1.29...

Re: API on Debian
[re 1.29 installed?] Yes, and no... I previously had v1.28.100 installed (and working) and followed the same instructions here to fetch and install v1.29.0. This appears to have worked (the ZM web interface indicates v1.29.0 at the top and ZM functions) however I note that there is no /usr/share/zon...

Re: API on Debian
Rich,
Did you make any progress? I've just bought ZMNinja but am unable to use it on my Debian installation of ZM (v1.29.0) due to the missing APIs.
Knnniggett,
I'd be interested and appreciative for the outcome of your work with Asker on the roll-your-own documentation side.

Debian filename versioning error
I have just upgraded ZoneMinder from v1.28.100 to v1.29.0 following the instructions here and noticed that whilst the zoneminder/version file correctly showed v1.29.0 the built packages seemed to be still using the old version numbers: # ls -l zoneminder_* -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1309 Feb 6 13:59 zon...

Re: zones to enable or disable by time
I'm pretty sure you can already do this with cron.
Create multiple monitors for your parking space with different zones created on each, then use different run states to control which monitor is enabled at any one time.

Re: ZM sending e-mails... even when configured not to!
I've found the culprit! And it was 'user error' after all (surprise surprise) A few weeks ago I was experimenting with the built-in motion detection from one of the IP cameras (a Panasonic BL-C1) and... you're one stop ahead of me now... had configured it to alert by e-mail. Clearly the SMTP client ...

Re: ZM sending e-mails... even when configured not to!
I fear we might be heading towards a 'user error' scenario.... I left tcpdump running monitoring outgoing port 25 connections on my Zoneminder machine... and did the same for incoming port 25 on the mail server... This morning I had two culprit e-mails appear yet only the mail server dump showed the...

Re: ZM sending e-mails... even when configured not to!
Thanks for the idea Asker however I've ruled out cron as the times are quite sporadic and there's no Date: header (whereas cron does insert given its use of the local mailer). I've set a script running now to keep an eye on all outgoing port 25 connections and so will hopefully catch what process is...

ZM sending e-mails... even when configured not to!
My installation of ZoneMinder (v1.28.100) is behaving rather strangely... From time to time it is sending out e-mails. This is despite no filters being set to send e-mails and even unticking 'OPT_EMAIL' doesn't help. If I changed the From: address (FROM_EMAIL) this doesn't have any effect to these e...

Re: Change from "monitor" to "modect" on many cams simultane
You can also change the state ('all monitor', 'all modect', etc) with zmpkg.pl <state>.
You could put this in a script for double-clicking on the desktop, or use cron to change the state automatically if your daily routine is consistent.

Re: Bug affecting remote_auth still present in 1.26.x
Thanks Isaac, and indeed thanks for your continued contribution to this project.
Incidentally, I stumbled across your ZoneMinder PPA and I see it is intended for Ubuntu but do you know if it would also work with Debian (7/Wheezy)?

Bug affecting remote_auth still present in 1.26.x
Hi, First off, can I just say how pleased I am that ZoneMinder lives on in the 1.26 series. As a long-time user - from since very nearly the beginning - I was getting rather concerned when we seemed to sticking on v1.25! That said, I've only just got round to updating, however I have found a bug tha...
