Did you read through the link for your version on how to make Ubuntu work with ZM? Very rarely is it as easy as installing the package.

What version of ZM are you using? If 1.24.X try using the BGR24 color palette. Very common error

Try experimenting with "Min/Max Alarmed Area". If your current value is 5 (min) decrease it to 3 (or less). This value represents the percentage of the entire frame that must change to alarm if your units is set to percentage.

There is a chance to pull this off if the camera supports motion detection on it's own. In that case you would use Nodect as your function and would record only what the camera determined to be motion. If the camera ignored the pan/tilt you'd be in business. I can't give you an example of such a cam...

Try modifying your hosts file with domain name and resolution (ip address).

Your card number is probably wrong. At this link is a good list of card numbers and if you can locate yours - http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/html_single/BTTV/ . Where this value is set is distribution specific but try searching for the location of bttv.conf as a suggestion. Also if you have more then 1 c...
