Searched all 112 pages of that pdf, never found the string JPEG. For ZoneMinder, you want something that does MJPEG. Check the supported hardware list.

Mythzoneminder, Ubuntu 7.10, mythzoneminder

Has anyone gotten this combination working yet? Synaptic installed (not in front of it) ~.20, which didn't have the mythzoneminder plugin. Enabling the multiverse repository let me install ~.21, which did, but it never showed up on the list of plugins. Is the best option to deinstall all of myth and...

As for figuring out what FS is running, try the command "mount" in a terminal. It will look like this; /dev/md2 on / type ext3 (rw) none on /proc type proc (rw) usbdevfs on /proc/bus/usb type usbdevfs (rw) /dev/md0 on /boot type ext3 (rw) /dev/md1 on /var type ext3 (rw) /dev/md3 on /tmp ty...

Disk speed

I'm pretty new at the ZoneMinder game, but in my non-scientific experience so far, RAID 0 is worlds better than one drive. My initial tests set to record all on one drive took ages to delete old events, and pegged the CPU. Reformatted the system (2 320gb drives) into 1 RAID 0 640GB, and it's running...

I searched for "table crashed repaired", all, and ended up with this thread as the first hit, so thanks for posting the link in it. :)

Broken images

Ubuntu 7.10, ZoneMinder 1.23.2 (though I experienced the same with 1.22.3-10), Firefox 2.0.0.12 When I view a monitor, or montage, often the images don't show up the first time when browsing on the actual server with firefox. A reload often but doesn't always fix the problem. Running the same versio...

External events

You can send events to ZoneMinder fairly easily via TCP port 6802, I've successfully tried that so far. There are other connection options (Unix?) I haven't experimented with that might work as well.

zmtrigger.pl mods, axis 207

I'm still working on getting my motion settings right, but in the mean time, I've found that you can put the + in the axis, you just have to go to a different setup page. Setup System Options Advanced Plain Config Select group event, the message will be at the bottom. well, ok, that doesn't really h...

Install

Great day for Ubuntu/me today. Got the system reinstalled from scratch booting on a raid (can't hurt for dealing with a bajillion image files), and then topped it off with a successful install of 1.23.2.

Thanks, Peter!

Axis @ Night

Ok, so 2 weeks into ZoneMinder, now have 4 (soon to be 5) Axis 207's setup in my museum for security, and all is well. Now we're looking into webcam uses, in addition to security. Alot more cameras all over, some of them in our caves. Any votes on an Axis product for use in a cave? Either with IR li...

Woohoo. It's 4 am, I should be thinking about going back to sleep for a few hours, now I want to go to the office and play. I guess I can wait for the Ubuntu version. Is anyone running ZM in a VM? Seems like a safer way to try out new revisions, at least. Might also make dynamic partitioning a bit e...

Debian missing

I've followed various links to installing various versions which mention a site in australia that has .deb packages. It no longer seems to have any packages. Am I looking in the right spot? I'd like to have 1.23.2 for my Ubuntu 7.10 installation, since I'm starting from scratch with a new installati...

Speco P-INTB1/IP-INTB2

Looks to be a decent camera, and the specs below seem to indicate to me that ZM might be able to use it, but I can't find any links to anyone having tried it. Thoughts? "Dual Streaming: Cameras have both MPEG-4 and JPEG CODECS which allow you to choose between streaming or high quality video&qu...
