Maintaining two ZM installs is messy. I did it once - but it took a lot of fudging around.
If you must have two ZMs on the same server search the forum for running ZM via docker.

Re: Possible bug: WEB_H_SCALE_THUMBS has no effect
Version 1.28.1. I have WEB_H_SCALE_THUMBS set, yet the thumbnails are downloaded full (HD) size and then scaled in the browser. According to the documentation: WEB_H_SCALE_THUMBS, WEB_M_SCALE_THUMBS, WEB_L_SCALE_THUMBS - If unset, this option sends the whole image to the browser which resizes it in...

Re: External access to snapshots of cameras
Yup it works. That's what I am doing in zmNinja to work around the max 10 (or 6) connections open problem of Chrome

Re: External access to snapshots of cameras
I'm wondering if there's a way to get snapshot of a particular camera (read "Zoneminder" monitor) in form of URL to JPEG? . You mean use ZM to grab a monitor feed and save it as an image? wget "http://yourserver/cgi-bin/zms?mode=single&monitor=1&user=xxx&pass=yyy" -O...

Re: open source ZM client: ZmNinja
uninstall/install following my instructions would be the easiest way till iconnor releases a PPA That will be wonderful. I didn't installed the app yet. I have to find some time to read carefully the instructions. By the way, do I need to uninstall/install ZM1.28 in order to get the API or it...

Re: open source ZM client: ZmNinja
Hi PacoLM, I think thats a good idea. I can add a 'take snapshot' button that will directly save an image to your phone/tablet Hi asker, Request for a function-> add a button to capture an image for all the active monitors (the current image when the button is clicked), and get the image to your pho...

Re: disabling individual camers via CLI?
If all you want to do is enable/disable, explore zmu zmu --help New ZM user here. While I've found that zmpkg.pl does what I need for stopping and starting ZM from a command line, I'd like to be able to script the enabling / disabling of individual cameras, also from a command line but am unsure how...

Re: Build from sources, vlc issues
Linwood, if you are using a VM, how about just going with Ubuntu 14? I have posted a howto here
Edit: Ah, I see you are facing VLC issues - something I don't use (well I did use it and it works perfectly with my Foscams, just that it eats up a lot of CPU)

Re: Add New Monitor Greyed out
I looked into it. I am using the built-in admin user (different password). It had edit privs on monitor. My first impression is its a cache issue. As PacoLM suggested, try logging out of ZM and then completely clear your browser cache. If that does not work, temporarily try another browser. If you ...

Re: What hardware you running ZoneMinder on?
Hi PacoLM, 1) All my monitors are in modect 2) I use cron to switch monitor modes depending on time of day 3) To further reduce unwanted recordings, I use helper scripts (triggered by cron) that check for my iPhone location - and if I am in the house, switches off recording in the first floor . This...

Re: Add New Monitor Greyed out
This might mean the user you are trying to log in with does not have "edit" permissions to change/add monitors. Do this: 1. Disable OPT_AUTH, go to options->Users 2. Click on the user you are trying to use with OPT_AUTH -- make sure it has "Edit" permissions set to Monitors (and ...

Re: Ubuntu 15.04 64 BIT and ZM 1.28.1 from PPA
You might want to ask iconnor if he packaged the api. Now that we merged your .htacces stuff, I think the only extra step he needs to do is make sure and initialize the crud submodule and then the API should work in the new zoneminder snapshot deb packages. Ah, I remember chatting with him or IRC b...

Re: What hardware you running ZoneMinder on?
My production server for 5 HD (1280x960/32) cameras is this :D :D (with the exception that I bumped up memory to 4GB) I've done a good job configuring zones etc. My average load when not recording hovers between 0.2 - 0.4 When recording, depending on how many cameras are recording, hovers around 0.8...

1.28.5? The latest stable build is 1.28.1 Do you by any chance mean you are upgrading from 1.25 to 1.28.1? If so, that's a gap of 4 years and software does change - especially open source and unlike software that people pay for, there is really no obligation to keep certain interfaces intact even th...
