Export failed

Help! I have recently had several vehicles broken into and the police are very happy with the recorded images. They have of course, asked for a copy of the images. No chance I have ticked all the images on the events page (110 events recorded) and clicked on export: Export failed every time. I have ...

I remember using Chmod 777, don't remember it doing anything useful - but it can't harm it to try. I also remember someone telling me: on terminal do su - <enter root's password> visudo at the end of file add apache2 ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD:ALL Again, it's worth a try. I've left it in as I believe Apache...

Originally under Jaunty 9.04 but managed to get the little blighter to work on Karmic after a fight.. Under System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager, click on the box for Apache2 and go down to "Mark for complete removal" This is what "allegedly" removes the config file...

I eventually managed to get it working perfectly, but it was a case of totally wiping and starting again. Using Synaptic, I removed Apache2, MySql, MySql server, MMySql core and zoneminder. It's a total removal including the config files. Then using Synaptic again, I installed Zoneminder 1.23. That ...

The solution was given to me by a very nice person on the Ubuntu forum: "Open synaptic, and completely remove the following packages: zoneminder, mysql-server- mysql-server5.1 and mysql-server-core apache2 ... ***MAKE SURE YOU MARK THEM FOR COMPLETE REMOVAL*** This will remove all of the config...

I am happy and relieved to say that everything is chowned good and proper! Now then... I know that it saves the images in some wierd and convoluted directory structure. O.K. I'll grudgingly accept that, as long as zoneminder accepts it. If I take say Event 310 and look at the first blank image place...

I have managed to change Apache2's user and group to www-data (used the gui and right clicked to get properties) Eventually figured out how to do it in terminal as well, so I'm learning eventually... I don't have a etc/httpd/conf/http.conf file, but I do have etc/apache2/httpd.conf file, which is em...

Yes Export works, saves it compressed with all the directories (is that right? - see post 6) and in the bottom directory are all the jpegs (usually about 20 of them). I've checked all the ...zoneminder/events directories and they all belong to www-data, and they are all in group www-data. The Apache...

All permutations come up invalid user whether I'm root or not, e.g:
root@Cameras:/home/brafferton# chown -R apache2.www-data /usr/share/zoneminder/events
chown: invalid user 'apache2.www-data'

I edited sudo and tried both apache and apache2 as directed. Still no playback. I can't do the chown bit as it always comes up invalid user no matter what I try. I did manage to find this trawling the directories under /var/log/apache2/error.log, (quite big file since I started on the 8th Nov) the l...

Don't quite know what you mean there...

The /etc/apache2 directory is owned by root. Should I change it to www-data?

I did: sudo chown -R apache.apache /usr/share/zoneminder/events and got chown: invalid user: 'apache.apache' I did have a look in the following: /usr/share/zoneminder/events/1/09/11/14/13/45/34 and saw images /usr/share/zoneminder/events/1/09/11/14/14/11/13 and saw more /usr/share/zoneminder/events/...
