Re: Problem with image from Axis p33
Search the forums for screen tearing. That doesn't look like the classic data-corruption that causes MPEG tearing artifacts. It looks like either the resolution or the colourspace (number of bytes per pixel) is wrong, and the picture is being scrambled because of it. Check *very* carefully that the...

Re: Camera errors and nothing to see
I think the best you can do is take whatever video they output and suck it into ZM just as a viewing platform "I noticed that the cameras only record when motion is detected and after recording 20 seconds they go "offline"." "I get some feeds when the cameras are recording ...

Re: Camera errors and nothing to see
But they are not suitable for ZM then?? Can someone confirm that?? Whatever mode you set ZM in, the fundamental problem is that these cameras appear to be solving a different problem :( These cameras: Sit idle, not recording, not streaming, not even apparently on the network (404 ??). When they det...

Re: ZOSI ZR08MN (DVR) cannot talk to zoneminder
The result is that you cannot pull the videos and or jpg's from the DVR without their cloud service and apps, which requires you to register with them. I refuse to do that on principle. While I'm sorry to hear of your struggle with this device, I think your conclusion is perfectly sound -- and one ...

You say :- HTTP Port 86 Server Port 5000 Mobile Port 5001 NMAP says :- 23: A Telnet Port If NMAP can't find a server listening on port 86 then there's no server there, nor anything listening at 5000/5001. 86 is a non-standard port for http, port 80 is assumed if you just http://the-device/ you'd at ...

... or "tvtime", which I use to watch analog input TV on a BT848 based card. You could also try supplying a known-good analogue signal (from a composite output on a DVR/camera/anything else) to the card's inputs. If the signal from your camera is not a properly compliant PAL/NTSC signal, y...

Re: Axis M3025-VE - constantly switching between day/night modes
I'm assuming your original problem is when the camera is in "auto" mode, and it decides whether to IR-cut based on illumination level. Of course, if it is switching on an IR source, this will increase illumination which will cause it to think it's daytime again. It may just be with the IR ...

Re: Camera backdoor
Is this practice wide spread? As a lot of these backdoors aren't documented (security through obscurity) it's hard to know until they get exploited, or unless you worked at the company making them ;) For one camera, there was an unpublished URL (e.g. http://camera/video.cgi , http://camera/admin.cg...

Re: PoE cam pigtail cut/rejoin?
Splicing CAT5/6 cable together with twist+electrical tape is not exactly within specifications. It may well work, it may introduced noise/emissions or a rather nasty reflection in the cable that stops it working. Alternative idea: An external grade small weatherproof junction box. Drill small hole i...

Re: image 'tearing' on amcrest 3MP dome
Is ‘GOP’ a technical term here? Do they buffer up to a certain point then batch send? Would then the image corruption be related to packet loss in all likelihood? If so, that’s a lot (?) of loss for a hardwired link.. (I terminated the cable myself but fluke said it was good..) Is tcp support typic...

Re: image 'tearing' on amcrest 3MP dome
Well I found my error - I had the monitors set to UDP, needed to be TCP. UDP is not a reliable transmission method, in that a packet can turn up none, one, or more times. In no particular order related to other packets. If you accept that behaviour as part of your system design, then it's fine. But...

Re: under $30 cameras
I got three dirt cheap cameras off AliExpress. Two 1080p indoor cameras that cost me €20 each (including shipping) and a third 1080p outdoor camera for €30 (including shipping) All three are setup on zm on a raspberry pi 4 4gb and now running fine (I had an issue getting all to work simultaneously ...

Re: image 'tearing' on amcrest 3MP dome
You have the right word for it! Try searching the forum with the phrases "FFMPEG tearing" "FFMPEG smearing" -- this does come up from time to time, and should be fixable.

Re: Interfacing PC to BNC Security Cameras
... BNC cameras? Is there a good balun gizmo? You may need more than a balun to get you out of that one. Don't be fooled by seeing cheap balun devices that can adapt a BNC (coax) to twisted pair (cat-5) that have no real electronics in them. They are JUST cable adapters ... all they do is correctly...
