i know that i can manually configure the states with cron.

Like from the FAQ:
0 8 * * * root /usr/local/bin/zmpkg.pl Daytime
0 20 * * * root /usr/local/bin/zmpkg.pl Nighttime

It would be awesome if there is a feature to do this in zoneminder itself (web frontend).

Update: You can't export the event via the "export" settings.
You must click on "Video" and then you can select the format/frame rate and some other settings

Hello, when i just mark "Export Video Files (if present)" and export the event i get an empty archive file. Is this a problem with my camera settings? It's an old cam with the HTTP picture stream. Then i tested if the video export just works with ffpmeg/rtp/rtsp cameras. But also at my rts...

Open your zoneminder.conf in conf-enabled and check if the alias path is set correctly.
I can only imagine that the alias zm is set to an non existing/empty www directory of zm.

You get the blue screen when there is a temporary connection problem or the camera solution is different with the solution you configured at the camera in zoneminder.

Do you connected the camera via wlan?

It's also possible that you have wrong zoneminder settings

This must be an issue with apache. If you installed zm correctly and activated the zoneminder config file it must work. Is apache working correctly? Can you view php files?
