Ideally I would do that but the server runs a whole multitude of other functions (mail/web etc) so it's difficult to distinguish between cause and effect. That said, I haven't noticed any change in the general load on the machine and so, for my situation at least, it's probably nothing to worry abou...

Any overhead by splitting a large zone into smaller ones?
Can anyone tell me if there is any additional overhead (CPU, time, etc) of splitting, say, the default 'All' zone into two seperate zones covering the same area? My reasons for wanting to do this are to have different thersholds for different parts of the picture so whilst the alarm zone coverage re...

I've got two BL-C1's. Good image quality, decent low-light performance, reliable, compact size, discreet design and cheap! Top marks in my book! The Axis range of cameras seem to get nothing but absolutely glowing reviews so you might wish to check them out also. They are in a different price bracke...

The easiest way may be to use an external script to send the SMS's out (I use one in conjunction with the MercurySMS tool). The script could timestamp a file and simply check the age of this stamp prior to sending - if it's younger than 5 minutes then skip the SMS. However, is your intent to avoid t...

I run a fully-blown mail server and so can only offer the following cut-down solution based on theory - I'm pretty sure it would work without further configuration so ought to be worth a try. Firstly, install Postfix - it is Sendmail compatible yet much easier to configure. The default Postfix confi...

You're spot on (see, you're an expert!) Something worth noting (which is mentioned in the docs) - make sure any delete rule is limited to only run on a limited number of events (e.g. 'Limit to first 5 results' is the default I think for the shipped purge rule) otherwise, if no limit is set then as s...

With respect, I have been following the conversation (perhaps you missed the fact that it is only you and I talking here) and it was my understanding that you had been unsuccessful in getting manual filters to execute your script. My apologies if this misunderstanding is mine. As for your question, ...
