Addition of Navbox to the Wiki

I'd like to create navigation boxes for the wiki but this requires some changes to be made by an administrator. I documented what is required for nav boxes on my wiki at steakwiki.com/index.php/Mediawiki I have wiki access so I think I can add the Template and Module pages required, but I probably c...

Re: samsung sdh install

You have misconceptions about how Zoneminder is used. The bad news is, that you can't just run Zoneminder on the DVR instead of the GNU\Linux that samsung is probably running on it. It would require a significant porting effort, and DVRs are abandonware. The good news is, that you can run a second (...

Re: ZoneMinder was not compiled with the X264 MP4 video writer, check dependencies (x264 and mp4v2)

I've seen permissions errors (with non default storage) cause videos to not record. Another note: you are using an RPI4 and trying to run 5 cameras. This is a lot for an RPI. I would recommend starting with one, make sure it's recording to disk, in the mode you want (modect, mocord, or record) then ...

Re: ZoneMinder was not compiled with the X264 MP4 video writer, check dependencies (x264 and mp4v2)

debian 10 deprecated some libraries that we use. So the version in raspbian comes without those features. Go to https://zmrepo.zoneminder.com for instructions on how to get our version which has everything. Raspbian has different repos from Debian 10, and when I installed it two months ago or so (p...

Re: HankVision Megapixel WIP6001

Did you try the two video paths from the end of the 2nd post in the first link? You can try VLC gui or ffmpeg from command line first to get resolution, and verify the stream works. Can also try port 8080, as the post mentions. You might need to poke around the GUI to change settings, if the ports a...

Re: HankVision Megapixel WIP6001

Hankvision looks to be a blatant ripoff of the successful Hikvision. I don't know why anyone would purchase a camera like this. Hikvision is ok, but Hankvision... A quick web search brings up these results on Hankvision: https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/hankvision-30x-ptz-4mp-streams.23961/ https://ipc...

The reolink battery powered cameras were just reported in this thread to not work with 3rd party NVRs (i.e. not Onvif compliant).

Re: RSTP connection issues

You should not have any Max FPS settings, remove that. Chromium should work OK if it's up to date. Flash Raspbian Buster on the RPI and use 1.32.3 in the Raspbian repos. But you should first lower the resolution and FPS of the cameras. 1920x1080 on an RPI is too high to start with. With the RPI, you...

Re: ZoneMinder as a could DVR for remote standalone IP cameras

Basically, what you want is a 4G connected IP camera, with a remote ZM server somewhere recording that camera, right? It's possible. You either open the camera up to the WAN, or setup an RPI with a VPN alongside the camera. But this will be expensive, as cell bandwidth isn't usually cheap. I wouldn'...

Re: RSTP connection issues

Look at post #2 again. Camera Resolution in VLC must be the same in ZM. You have 1920x1080 in VLC, and 640x480 in ZM.

The only other thing you 'might' try is libVLC, but first get the resolution right. FFMPEG will probably work.

Re: only 1 camera work at time on raspbian buster

It seems like the df "usage" indicates one the the zm maps isn't there after all ... (132M vs 270M) I'm going to guess ZM is trying to initialize the mmap, and then is unable to keep up with the camera feed, at which point it balks, and the mmap is constantly being re-made. He might've ju...

Re: only 1 camera work at time on raspbian buster

Try lowering the FPS at the camera, the resolution, and / or use record instead of Mocord or Modect so that no analysis is done. You can also disable all logging on ZM (Options - Logging), and anything else that might use up CPU. Reference: https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Single_Board_Computers You will...

Re: ZM 1.33 with Docker Complete Wipe

First off, I recommend docker-compose. Second, there is an official ZM docker in the git (utils?), no need to build from scratch. You might have to edit it for 1.33, but I think it's in the PPA, so doable. Are you sure it's actually being deleted? Some basic commands would suit you. docker ps - list...
