Re: PTZ physical connection

I found the most economical solution is a rs232 to rs485 adapter to convert the serial port to rs485.

Re: the best images for the police?

I have built an IR illuminator to try out but the cameras I have on the road have IR filters. it is possible to remove the IR filter I just haven't done it yet to see how the daylight image will change yet.

Re: the best images for the police?

none of the cars on the property have converters anymore they are all gone. the cars were scattered around the yard so I would need lots of cameras to cover but that isn't the only thing I have to look for either. there is heavy equipment and construction materials not to mention the copper wire tha...

I edited the videos down and posted them on youtube if anyone is interested. This guy was stealing catalytic converters off of cars stored on my industrial property.
He and a friend also broke into a neighboring business.

could you go into a little more detail? I'm not as proficient with Linux or programing as I would like to be. I am a fast learner though.

zoneminder startup in 10.04

Just rebuilding my server and upgraded to Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS and noticed that when it reboots zoneminder doesn't automatically start. I have seen some talk of it but cant see how to solve this problem. any help would be appreciated.

The easy way to do it is to edit with nano or your favorite text editor "/etc/apache2/sites-enabled/000-default"

change:
DocumentRoot /var/www
to:
DocumentRoot /usr/share/zoneminder

and change:
<Directory>
to:
<Directory>

save and reboot.
