No, there is no detriment to using 4 monitors on a 8 port card, 4 capture chip card. It'll behave just like a 4 port, 4 capture chip card. Yes you are able to control which capture chip and port number a monitor uses. I agree with your logic, if it doesn't cost much more to get a card with more port...

It posts HTTP requests to the ZM server which acts on the requests and returns XML data. ahagadorn, it sounds like you built a "webservice" (forgive me using a hyped buzzword) on top of Zoneminder. That alone would be a great contribution to Zoneminder. Being able to access the ZM databas...

If you are out of options to try, you can co to the monitors settings (the one found from clicking on the 'Settings' link in the Live Feed in window) and play with the 'Hue' and 'Color' settings.

I doubt the Trendnet IP-400W will have good low-light performance. You can check out the Airlink101 SkyIPCam 747W that costs $200 at Fry's (the non-wireless version costs $150). It is a cheap PTZ IP cam and has IR lights for night vision. But don't expect a very long night vision range. Someone has ...

Yes, you are correct. I didn't notice the usb port and the mpeg4 support. Looks like the AirLink 777 and the Trendnet V-IP422 are more feature rich cameras than the AirLink 747. I looked at the manuals of the airlink and the trendnet cams (available for download them from their websites). They use t...

A dictionary meaning of blob, which better applies to Zoneminder's blobs, is:

Code: Select all

FYI,

The Airlink101 SkyIPCam 747(W) cameras (W is for wireless, no W means wired only) look identical to the Trendnet TV-IP422(W). These might Setarcos' tips might work on the Trendet cameras as well.

Yes the combing is due to using multiple channels on one chip. When using more than one channel on a single chip, Zoneminder will do a cycle where it will change the channel and grab the capture image and then change the channel can grab the capture image. The combing artifacts are caused by the cha...

I really don't know much about these cams other than I also seen them at Frys in San Jose where they have all the cams on a wall connected to monitors so you could compare the video quality, I just remember thinking I would not be buying any CCTV cams from Frys unless I just needed something cheap ...

agoodm,

It probably didn't work for you because you might have applied the older patch. The new modified patch has for a clean ZoneMinder 1.23.3 source. Sorry about that.

I was correct, using abs(replay_rate) did the trick. I updated the patch in the op. If you already applied the patch the old patch, you can undo it and apply this new patch or simply edit the file in the way I described above.

Oh man, I think I know why rewinding is faster than it should be. The line delta_us = (delta_us*ZM_RATE_BASE)/replay_rate needs to be delta_us = (delta_us*ZM_RATE_BASE)/abs(replay_rate) That's what happens when you play with code when you're half asleep. I'll try to change out tonight and update my ...

1) Zoneminder supports rotating the camera images so that an upside down camera will look right side up. 2) I don't have any experience with using ZoneMinder on IP cameras so I can't say if your CPU has enough horse power. Memory wise, you might be okay with the memory you have as long as you are no...
