Well with a little help from google I quickly found this repository with ZoneMinder-MP-1.24.2-3.1.i586.rpm http://liquid-co.de/pub/suse/repositories/11.1/i586/ So it looks like you should be able to get up and running without too much trouble. I'm not familiar enough with Suse to know the process of...

Sorry for the delay in responding. Work happens :) How do I get out of this mess? To offer anything helpful, I need to know what you are wanting to accomplish. Do you want to run zoneminder on Suse? If so I might suggest reinstalling Suse fresh. Then I believe there is a zoneminder Suse RPM. This ma...

Yes that is recommended. You can use "yaourt -S zoneminder(or zoneminder-svn)".
I was bulding binary packages but find that with the arch rolling release model it's impossible to know which lib versions any users system has, since they may have upgraded their system.

I doubt this is a fatal error or hardware related as I am not having any problems with my Acronis Bootloader or my Windows XP Pro installation. Very happy to hear :) maybe I should try to reboot with the CD in my drive just to see what happens. Please let us know how this goes. Note that some syste...

I'm sorry to hear things are not going smoothly. I hope you are describing simply a failure to boot the linux system, and not a problem with the hardware itself. I'm not sure I understand exactly what you are experiencing. Since your mention both a Suse linux installation on you HDD and also the liv...

@rdmelin so you say it could be possible to get an uvc cam working throw v4l2, ive tried some different options but source wont turn into another color than red First be sure the device is not being used by another process, ie shut mjpeg-streamer down, and anything else that may be trying to access...

I'd encourage you to try setting up the camera as a regular v4l2 monitor rather than through mjpeg-steamer. I believe you are using the arch PKGBUILD zoneminder, and it is patched with libv4l support. If you can access the camera directly with zoneminder you will get far better performance, should b...

I'd recommend a graphic du front end called 'filelight'. It will give you a pie chart display of your disk usage. Finding what (data) is filling your disk should be a good start to finding what (process) is filling it.

short_open_tag = Off is set on line 131 of the default arch php.ini.
So if you set it on earlier is is set off again when the file is parsed.

As a workaround you can edit /usr/bin/zmupdate.pl and add the block that upgrades from 1.24.1. Take a look, you will see that it's easy.

Also be sure to restart apache so it rereads the configs, and reload [F5] in your browser to be sure it's not loading an old page from cache.

The zm init script in /etc/rc.d didn't return a [FAIL] so it looks like the backend is working alright. The problem is in the web frontend. Try using http://localhost/zm/index.php and see what the gives you.
