Re: excessive logging and cannot delete database log entries

You need to increase the "Maximum Image Buffer Size" for whatever cameras are returning those log errors. You'll most likely have to allocate more memory and expect more CPU usage for recording/analysis than previously on 1.34. Another thing that might help if you're using Motion Detectio...

excessive logging and cannot delete database log entries

Hi - Running zoneminder on current Fedora 33 [edited to fix the version of Zoneminder I'm using]: Zoneminder 1.36.1-3.fc33 rpm from rpmfusion-free-updates-testing It looks like there is no way to manually delete database log entries via the web UI, and the auto delete of them is failing because ther...

Re: No capturing after update to 1.36.1

I'm not sure what repo / packages you are using, but based on this post, I skipped 1.36.1 and updated to 1.36.3 using the rpmfusion-free-updates-testing repo (1.36.3 is not in the main rpmfusion repo yet). This: dnf --enablerepo=rpmfusion-free-updates-testing upgrade zoneminder I was upgrading from ...

Changing Hikvision settings and updating firmware

Not a compatibility listing. In order to change some of the settings (such as the on screen display) or even to upgrade firmware on Hikvision IP cameras - at least for my model DS-2CD2042WD-I - you need to have their web plugin installed, and the plugin only seems to work with Internet Explorer. I h...

Re: upgraded from fedora 27 to fedora 29 and zoneminder fails to start

Yes I do thanks for letting me know :) I've switched back to stable and it's working fine. And FYI for others, if you need to switch from the testing package back to the stable, disable your testing repo, and then I had to use the the package, version and arch for the install to pull in the stable v...

Re: upgraded from fedora 27 to fedora 29 and zoneminder fails to start

Thanks, I installed a test build (zoneminder-1.32.3-1.1.20181211gitg1e8c4276b.fc29.x86_64 and its related packages), and it's working now :-D I did notice there are leftover merge / conflict tags in the README.httpd, these: <<<<<<< HEAD If this step is not performed correctly, the web console will a...

upgraded from fedora 27 to fedora 29 and zoneminder fails to start

Running zoneminder on Fedora 29 via an upgrade from Fedora 27. I'm using zoneminder via rpmfusion, currently at: zoneminder-1.32.2-1.fc29.x86_64 On fc27, I was also running 1.32.2.-1 with no issues, the package showed zoneminder-1.32.2-1.fc27.x86_64 Starting zoneminder fails, in the log files, I see...

Searched for hkvision and zoneminder and hit this page ... funny because it's a hikvision ("hik", not "hk") camera :-D

Re: Upgrades issues

It most certainly does: https://github.com/ZoneMinder/zoneminder/blob/master/distros/redhat/readme/README.Redhat7#L7 This tripped me up - the new install step 6 explicitly mentions the required symlink, but upgrade step 3 doesn't :-( I'm now trying to figure out what I need in the zoneminder.conf -...

Re: Help: Connecing IP cameras directly to computer vis ethernet

My question is: Can I connect these IP cameras directly to the my unbuntu/zoneminder computer using ethernet cable? The BTHomeHub4 router is downstairs and it would be a major job to feed ethernet cable from the attic down to the router. I assume I would have to buy some multi-port ethernet switch ...

Re: Amcrest IP2M-844E setup notes

Aww, I found these:

https://askdns.com/ip/54.158.250.32

Maps to amcrestcloud.com, camcloud.com and foscamcloud.com

https://askdns.com/ip/52.52.42.29

Doesn't show any mappings.

https://askdns.com/ip/54.87.129.131

Maps to amcrestview.com

But the above all have aws host names too.

Re: Amcrest IP2M-844E setup notes

The cameras frequently want to connect to 52.52.42.29 (UDP/8800), 54.158.250.32 (HTTP), and 54.87.129.131 (TCP/12366); these are blocked. The above are all amazonaws.com addresses, but I'd guess they are mapped to actual host names. Do you have tcpdump output for DNS lookups for the camera? I don't...

Re: Inadvertant upgrade from 1.28 to 1.29 now socket_sendto issue

Thanks, but I was not looking for a full install or re-install :-( I changed PATH_ZMS from /cgi-bin/zm/nph-zms to /cgi-bin-zm/nph-zms, and it's now working. I guess that /etc/httpd/conf.d/zoneminder.conf was modified to use cgi-bin-zm, but the upgrade didn't change PATH_ZMS. This in /etc/httpd/conf....

Re: Inadvertant upgrade from 1.28 to 1.29 now socket_sendto issue

I'm hitting this same issue on a Fedora 23 system, I haven't tried the re-install option yet. Edit: I'm now at zoneminder-1.29.0-3.fc23.x86_64 via the /etc/yum.repos.d/zmrepo-fedora.repo that points to http://zmrepo.mehvc.com/f/$releasever/$basearch I did shutdown zoneminder, and delete old sockets ...
