D/N Cameras
Sony makes a Day / Night CCD chipset called 'exview'. This is one of the best D/N chipsets around. While I'm sure you could find a cheap camera on ebay you might want to contact me off the forum, we sell some D/N cameras that won't break the bank. http://www.bluecherry.net/store/catalog/index.php?ma...

I don't believe the capture cards on ebay support more then one capture card per computer. We sell capture cards (so does ituner) that you can install up to 4 of the same cards in the same computer. (The cards are usually referred to as 'A', 'B', 'C', 'D') and have to be followed in that order if in...

You can never go wrong with wired cameras. I have wireless CMOS cameras which are mainly meant for indoor use. I have some (not so cheap) CCD wired cameras, after using the 15% zoneminder discount (coupon code zoneminder), start at around $105 for a CCD camera with a fixed lens: http://www.bluecherr...

I also have the problem with MJPEG being broken in mozilla|firefox|galeon. The only way I have come across to fix this is the java plugin, but it's slow to start when you are viewing lots of events (motion detected events). You can do a forced reload by right clicking -> this frame -> force reload, ...

I've not heard of the microjack.com product line. I do however have some decent 120FPS (4 port) cards...or some 30FPS (4 port). I've personally used the 120FPS cards for several ZM installs and they work great

Time and Date recording functions
Has anyone come up with a decent way to switching recording functions (automagically)? Ie- record between 8am and 5pm, then motion detect between 5pm and 8am, then switch back? This would be very useful for many applications - plus save hard drive space

A problem you will run into, most indoor cameras use CMOS sensors. If these sensors are put in direct sunlight 'Really Bad Things Could Happen (tm)'. CCD cameras would probably be the best way to go. You can get cheap bullet cameras for under $100 (with IR LED's). Contact me either by PM or curt@blu...
