Re: Backups
Well i finally got around to using knnnigget script mentioned above for backing up mysql. Since I dont know my way around (enough to be dangerous) that well...after some googling I ended up putting this script in etc/cron.daily. I then ran the script in this directory....and I believe it deleted all...

Re: Viewing live stream stops without reason.
I have this problem also...I thought the problem was related to mysql (I even tried to tune it to no avail). The problem usually appears during/after viewing it remotely. I even tried turning down view settings and bitrate. I'm running 12.04 and am waiting for the 1.29 to be out of beta...maybe it w...

Re: Backups
Thanks for this Knnniggett!
Im assuming the backup would not work if the ZM is upgraded...in other word i could not do fresh install of different version zm
(than was backed up with this script) then restore this backup into newer version of fresh install...

Re: Some easy tips on improving ZM 1.28.x performance

Re: Some easy tips on improving ZM 1.28.x performance
BBunge posted this recently... I only needed to change my PATH_SWAP
Now I just need to figure out how to do the MySQL settings thing.
"If you have the memory you can put some of those functions on RAM disk such as:
PATH_MAP = /dev/shm
PATH_SWAP= /dev/shm"

Re: New install on new machine, copy setup from 1.24.2 to 1.
I cant answer your question but I would think you would want to go with 14.04LTS over 12 since it has only 2 yrs support left and 14 has 4yrs.

Re: Safe to upgrade Ubuntu 13.10 / ZM 1.25 to 14.04 / 1.28.1
I am hardly an expert....maybe an expert noob...and I had/have to do a lot of reading, I still reference everything I do in fear of screwing it up. I would just back it all up, and try from there....I know you want someone to chime in and give you all the info, but I think if its out there it would ...

Re: Safe to upgrade Ubuntu 13.10 / ZM 1.25 to 14.04 / 1.28.1
I suggest u back it up (whole disk in case things dont work out)...and either just upgrade the ZM, or first find forums or help online that just talk about upgrading the OS unrelated to ZM. After you get your OS upgraded then Update ZM. From what I gather OS distro upgrades are not the way to go.......
