Guiding rule to learn from this; If colour is important to you, don't use an IR camera. Not necessarily true. That Smart Home IR camera I have (image shown above) does not have the purple grass problem. This TrendNet was extremely bad. I did return it, even after having it a few months, and receive...

This was TrendNEt's first reply: Dear Customer, The TV-IP 512 camera has a IR sensor built into the camera allowing you use the camera with IR lighting. This however, does change the coloration of the image. I then sent them images from other IR cameras that depict colors correctly, that was 5 days...

I don't think that ACTi is an IR camera though, it goes black at night with plenty of IR light around.

Possible I guess, but I don't remember seeing that in the specs, I'm going to check into that though just to see if that's it. One is a SmartHome 7546B and the other is a SECO-LARM Enforcer EV-2706-N3WQ. That SmartHome is producing color pictures even at night lately, didn't during winter, you can s...

All good ideas, thanks. Just found another one 13617.73 seconds. Had a few 22,000 ones on Friday, then the 22 and 16 yesterday, and 13 again today, don't know why this is happening. On todays the frame count was 405638 the alarm frame count was 405334 and when I click on the alarm frame count I get ...

Be aware, TrenNET TV-IP512P appears to have a Hue problem

Take a look at these two images. One is from a TrendNET TV-IP512P camera and the other is from a ACTi ACM-3601 camera, both are network cameras both delivering MPEG4 at 30fps. Both pictures are of the same area of my backyard. Note the purple grass in the picture from the TrendNET camera as opposed ...

Can the length of an Event be limited to a Maximum time?

I've been getting some really long events, like over 22,000 seconds, I just looked and in the last Day had one at 22218.94 seconds and another at 16825.56 seconds. I doubt there was real motion that whole time. Being able to set maximum Event length would be nice, I looked at the options and nothing...

I'm pretty sure they were all over 5 seconds, I had the pre image count set to 90 and the post set to 60 on 30fps cameras so that should have given me at least 5 second events. Now I have them set to 120 and 180 respectively. But every once in while a camera goes into Alarm and doesn't come out, hav...

Vivotek/4XEM PZ7132 PTZ Control Web Interface

Just got a Vivotek PZ7132 Friday so I wrote a web enabled interface for PTZ control so I don't have to access the camera directly to do that nor use Windoze. Firefox 3.5.8 in Linux immediately dies when attempting to access it, got a feeling it's due to the QuickTime plugin. Opera can access it but ...

Well, I guess I got one of my questions answered, sorta. I ordered a 4XEM PZ7132 from Buy.com and what arrived Friday was a Vivotek PZ7132. Matters not to me. Works pretty good, decent image via ffmpeg and RTSP, but not a consistent 30fps, more like in the mis 20's with a wired connection. Only got ...

Time to next event = 1 seconds?? Huh??

Or sometimes 'Time to next event = 2 seconds', whatever. I'm trying to watch a single event, I see it, then I see this message, then I see a glimpse of it again then I see this message, then I see a glimpse of it again then I see this message, etc. Continuously. During the same, one single event. Wh...

Vivotek PZ7132 & 4XEM 4X-PZ7132 Opinions Please

I'm thinking of getting one of these, look the same to me, these companies affiliated or they just get their stuff from the same Asian factory? Anyone using one of these with ZoneMinder? Like to hear your opinion. Does PTZ work? Either via ZoneMinder or basically thruLinux? PQ good? Wireless connect...
