Re: Any way to avoid installation into /usr/local?

Not sure on the the CMAKE thing, but Linux uses /opt, or /usr/local (depending on your distribution) -- or both. It's up to you though, the whole point of being in control of your own OS is that *you* can make these choices -- I've got most user-added stuff in /usr/local, but OpenOffice went into /o...

Re: Video Export - Not Working

"You've put it in the wrong box" :) PATH_FFMPEG is /usr/bin/avconv FFMPEG_INPUT_OPTIONS is for guidance to FFMPEG on how you want your video processing, regarding the input file FFMPEG_OUTPUT_OPTIONS similar for the output file from FFMPEG. It's not filled in by default as nobody knows wha...

Re: Rotating recording

I can't see anything obviously wrong with your syntax, although I use "Date" "Less Than" "7 days ago" (rather than "-7 day") Thought ... while experimenting, set up the filter how you want, and use "Submit" to see what events *would be* affected, wit...

Re: Video Export - Not Working

however the path to (optional) ffmpeg mpeg encoder is blank. Am I missing something? Ummm, at the risk of stating the obvious, you could be missing the path to the ffmpeg binary? "/usr/local/bin/ffmpeg" on my system, you need the full path including the name of the binary, not just the fo...

Re: Quick Yay or Nay..... dual function

Mocord doesn't do both at once -- it records events that are motion, interspersed with events that are not motion. You can set up multiple entries for IP cameras (not sure about /dev/video style capture devices) -- 1 physical camera added as two "monitors" in ZoneMinder speak. There should...

Re: Quick Yay or Nay..... dual function

Not both at once, but have you tried setting up two "monitors" on the same hardware camera, one configured for constant recording , and one for motion detection?

Re: purgewhenfull removes all events

I can confirm there's something you're not doing right, as this is not how "purge when full" should operate -- your assumption of its behaviour is correct, it will trim a few events (in your case, 10) and give up. If disk is still over (nn%) on the next run, it will trim a few again. You m...

Re: Image not rendering

Looks like somewhere the resolution is set up wrongly, you seem to have the image repeated "across" *about* 4 (or 8) times, and it's a quarter of the right height. It's as if you've got a 320x240 picture being delivered into a 640x480 space, but not quite such round numbers. A bit over 320...

Re: Viewing events chronologically

We could use more details as to exactly how you are trying to set this up. I currently view events, sorted by time, back to back, daily. If you are creating you own filter and not using the default hour, day, week, month filters on the web console, you need to set the Sort to Desc. To get ZoneMinde...

What camera is it? How is the camera connected (wired, wireless?) Do you have other cameras that are affected...

Yes, but look at the output of "df" ... it shouldn't be deleting ANY events, as the usage is 2% !

Re: Dahua PTZ IP Camera having 5+ secs delay

Maybe because no-one has had that problem with that camera? Just as a check: What frame rate (FPS) have you got set on the settings in Zoneminder for this camera? If the answer is anything other than "blank" ... that could give you problems (delays). Control the frame rate at the camera's ...

Re: Suggestions for wall mount displays

Looks like a real possibility. Are the data lines exposed on the board somewhere that would be easy to splice into with the resister set needed? Or am I going to need to separately build that into the cable that plugs into this? I was just about to cover up this hole and do something different, lik...

Re: Suggestions for wall mount displays

Suggestions? For 5V at destination, send 12v from source. Bring 12v down to 5v the dumb/cheap/inefficient way with a 7805 regulator, or something much smarter like http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/7V-24V-to-5V-3A-DC-DC-Step-Down-Converter-Buck-Module-with-USB-Output-KIS3R33S-/281216550302?hash=item4179d005...
