Topic: Clarification of using percentages when working with zones?

I will go check the docs and see if I can work out what I was talking about  This will hopefully make things a little easier... I happened to be reading through the changelogs and found that back in v1.19.0 the percentage control was changed from 'of image' to 'of zone': 'Zone Percentage Sizes...

Okay, thanks for that. Point taken about them being suitable for live viewing, but perhaps a bit temperemental when it comes to motion detection - hadn't thought of that. I might give them a miss for now and do what I can with wired versions - my Panasonic BL-C1 IP cam gives superb results, particul...

Hmm... I'm not sure then - I was out of my depth when messing around with the above code so when it worked for me I stopped! :?

He has it installed as per my request above to display the version. Sure - it wasn't if ffmpeg was installed but rather where that I was wondering. :) I asked because the default ZM path location is for it to be in /usr/local/bin/ffmpeg whereas on Ubuntu it's actually installed at /usr/bin/ffmpeg. ...

Scroll down... there seems to be an empty <img src> at the top which takes up the space of a whole image.

Any joy?

I had this problem too. The solution for me, and it seems to have had no detrimental effects, was to comment out the following: if ( divisor != 1 ) $scale = (int)($scale/$divisor); I must say whilst ZoneMinder is superb, the mobile access is unbelievable!! (I'm referring specifically to the ?format=...

Anyone using (cheap) wireless CCTV cameras?

As many of you know doubt know there are a million-and-one cheap CCTV cameras on eBay all seemingly based on a similar theme. They appear to me as a common starting point for DIY security, particularly coupled with the ubiqitous unbranded BT878 capture cards. I've got such a camera/card myself and t...

Check your path to ffmpeg in Options > Images > ZM_PATH_FFMPEG. On a default Ubuntu install I believe it's located at /usr/bin/ffmpeg.

I just did a search for the Pico2000 card and found a photo which suggests it's the very same card that I use - previously I'd considered mine to be somewhat unbranded and hence didn't know what it was. However, it is recognised at a card type 77 (Grandtec) however my working modprobe options are si...

Sure - there are a whole load of environment variables that you can quote in both the subject and main body. Check out the main documentation at http://www.zoneminder.com/fileadmin/downloads/README.html (section 8.5). As an example, my subject line reads: ZoneMinder: ALERT! Suspected motion detected...

Oh I see - so both cameras work fine if plugged into the first port, but neither if using the second port?

Okay, sounds like a card issue then. (apologies if that's what you've already determined!).

I'm not sure what to suggest - I've only just started playing with capture cards myself.

Remember your HTTP authentication (or not) can be dictated on a per-directory basis hence there's no reason why you can't use it whenever, and for whatever application/purpose, as required. I think you'd just be best using HTTP AUTH for all ZM access (LAN or WAN) as opposed to WAN-but-not-LAN, if yo...
