You could probably solve it by simply increasing the minimum pixel threshold. To the naked eye the colour of your detected blobs don't look all that different to the surrounding areas hence the colour difference must only be slight - increasing the minimum pixel threshold should avoid these false tr...

You missed out: 0. System Administration Rule #4: Never share a partition between core system and data files, as a runaway process creating the latter can leave no room for the former and hence bring the whole lot down (as you found out). This doesn't just apply to ZoneMinder events, but mail queues...

It is behaving as designed. However, as you've ascertained, the effect of a non-immediate deletion at the filesystem level can result in further deletion requests that may otherwise not be required. Have you adjusted the timings as suggested? You will likely find the audit interval is geater than th...

You could alter the timings for ZM_FILTER_EXECUTE_INTERVAL and ZM_AUDIT_CHECK_INTERVAL to prevent/minimise the interim period.

Sure, I do appreciate that 'bang for the buck' is very relevant.

It is small too isn't it? Either that or an oversized box of matches! ;)

Thanks again for all the info - it's a useful level of detail for potential buyers.

You sound quite into this camera but how would you rate the images compared to other cameras? I thought the samples above lacked sharpness and the colour definition seemed quite off. Or were the shots taken in quite low (and incandescent) light?

Any chance you could upload some sample images?

To follow-up, are you up-and-running at 640x480?

In case you haven't already found it, I stumbled across the necessary shared memory settings - see step 13 in the first post at:

You can restart ZM using the web interface.

Search the forums/FAQ - the shared memory issue is a common one with larger image sizes. You should be able to get it working fine with 640x480 images with the necessary tweaks.

It's the CCD sensor that allows the low-light performance, it's why astronomers are so fond of this camera (or rather any camera which uses this CCD sensor from Sony).

It looks like we posted at the same time - have another read of my post above.

By 'took a snapshot' do you mean you successfully grabbed an image via ZM?

How do your logs look after a while? Do you get repeats of invalid shared memory errors, or did that only occur whilst restarting ZM after re-configuring?

I take it you've tried a smaller capture size?

Post your current monitor settings for the camera. Do the ZM logs give any hint? I am curious the extension settings didn't work for you in Camstream - you should have been able to control all manner of things such as exposure, sharpness, contrast, white balance etc - all things which should have a ...

Can you view images okay in 'camstream'? It contains a handy control for Philips extensions allowing you to tweak different things and set/reset the EEPROM etc.

Ah, right, that puts a different on perspective on things! That really doesn't sound good - what is about wireless bridges that fail to deliver? I don't mind about the encryption overhead - it's only a home wireless LAN used solely for a roaming laptop and visitors, and of course this additional cam...
