I'm having similar issues. I hope these are known bugs and on their way to being fixed.

Event generation and playback issues...

I"m not sure what I'm really seeing here but there are definitely some issues. When I try to play back events, they do not play smoothly even on my local LAN and sometimes seems to lock up apache so that nothing can be displayed from clicking links on the console. I just did a fresh install of 1.24....

Took your advice and created the partitions below: 10G / 2G swap Rest of the space /var So far...so good. The only issue I can see with Arch is that the 32bit version can't see beyond 3G of memory unless you recompile the kernel with some special flags set. Your effort on this LiveCD is very much ap...

Ok thanks!

I also found a small bug to fix in the next release.

In /etc/rc.conf you need to change "cron" to "crond" in the DAEMONS variable assignment in order for it to start at boot for those who need it.

Question about the events directory...

I did a clean install with your Larch CD 1.24.2 and found that it created a large /home partition that I was happy about. After the install I found that the events are still saved in the /var/lib/zm/www/events directory which causes the much smaller / file system to fill up after a while. I'm confus...

Thanks for the fix! I hope it's in the next release.

Can'd find way to create/edit zones?

What happened to the old "zones" button?

I just installed 1.24.2 and can not for the life of me figure out how to create or edit a zone? No zone button???

Should mention that it's the Arch Linux installed to hard disk version.

Ok... I got a little carried away and wrote a perl script to do what you described. Basically you can set up the script to run through cron and it will tell the remote camera to go through any series of presets and pause a specified amount of time at each one. All the while, it will use zmtrigger.pl...

I (and gneuf) did write a control ...or most of one for the PTZ-4N and the APTZ-1N, but I found that they didn't work as well for ZM. They seem to need more 2-way communication, meaning a response from the camera when commands are sent. I had trouble getting them to work well, but I'll get around to...

I bet you can just create another monitor and use the controls in one monitor and view the stream from another. Not ideal, but it would probably work. I'm not sure if when you choose "File" as your source on a second monitor, that you'll have the option to create a remote control, but that may be a ...

So just to be clear... to me anyway...lol

I should just comment out the line in /etc/inittab below?

# -8 options fixes umlauts problem on login
c1:2345:respawn:/sbin/mingetty --autologin user vc/1 linux

Or maybe just remove the --autologin etc...?
