After stopping ZM and restarting it the image has seemed to stablize, but changing the "source" does not seem to affect the actual source. I'm trying to see if it will detect motion now and I plan to reinstall the older kernel to see if it regresses back to the issue again.

OK... so I just rebuilt my ZM system with Ubuntu 8.04 server which has kernel: Linux system-z 2.6.24-16-server #1 SMP Thu Apr 10 13:58:00 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux I kept having issues with the image jumping from input to input when I set up monitors so I started searching and found a possible answer ...

Can anyone recommend a 4 or 8 port capture card?

I need a new PCI capture card because the bluecherry ones apparently don't work on newer kernels so now I have a new paper-weight!

Can someone recommend one that I can buy online in the US.

Thanks!

Quick question...

Everything seems to be working so far but I've seen this other package mentioned in the threads about the .deb zm package you developed and I'm wondering if I need to install it?

libphp-serialization-perl_0.27-1_all.deb

?

Thanks,
Michael

As usual... I messed up.

Turns out that "aptitude" does do some things differently than "apt-get" so it worked perfectly with "apt-get".

Thanks again for your work on this!

I'm sure I'll have more questions as I get to testing everthing...

I always use "aptitude", but I thought it was the same as "apt-get". I'll try the same install with "apt-get" tomorrow.

OK... the link from the installed apache.conf to the zoneminder.conf seems to make things better, but I still had a ton of scrolling messages about weather to uninstall zoneminder and install other things when I tried the "aptitude install -f" option. Can anyone shed some light on that pro...
