Re: zmeventnotification giving error `Temporary failure in name resolution`

I'd recommend using a proper hostname, not localhost. If you plan to use push notifications to your phone, you will never see the images along with the notification because the image URL will have "localhost" which will not work when your phone tries to display it.

Re: zmeventnotification giving error `Temporary failure in name resolution`

Well then we should treat the error literally. It can’t resolve the host name. Did you try connecting to the host name you are using in objectconfig?

Re: Machine Learning Hooks config

Yes. The exact URLs will depend on your ZM install, but take a look at secrets.ini that provides sample values Typically: portal=https://yourhostname/zm api_portal=https://yourhostname/zm/api With respect to LAN or WAN, it could be either. If however you want pictures included in your push notificat...

Re: zmeventnotification giving error `Temporary failure in name resolution`

Are you sure you are using the right config? In your post you said "manual mode" is working, where you did: $ sudo -u www-data ./zmeventnotification.pl --config ./zmeventnotification.ini Note that you are using zmeventnotification in your working directory. When you run as a daemon, it uses /etc/zm/...

Re: Quote for buying bulk license for ZmNinja

Can one app launch another app: Yes, sure. But what prevents your user to start zmNinja on its own and side step your app? I think a much better way is for you to modify zmNinja code and do what you want. I do offer a source code license. You can send an email to pliablepixels/gmail/com On your ZM s...

Re: Quote for buying bulk license for ZmNinja

There isn't an easy way, best to have your customers directly but it from the play store. That way they will get updates.I think Google allowed bulk purchases at one time, but discontinued it. Managing on my own is a pain, especially for low volumes - not worth the extra effort to be honest.

Re: /etc/zm/secrets.ini is missing

You need to follow the ES install guide at https://zmeventnotification.readthedocs.io/en/stable/
If you used install.sh to install, it would copy a sample secrets.ini file

Re: Superimposing Labels on an image

I guess there is a some kind of confusion. I want to make these boxes visible during live streaming. Like how we can have time stamp on the live feed, I want boxes drawn on the feed. I guess defining zones is to monitor activity in that area. Right now I am not much worried about the activity. All ...

Re: pyzm: a python wrapper (leverages 1.34 features)

Absolutely no plans to retire. These are wrappers so they will wrap around core ZM functionality (triggers are core). A good example of who may use this is Home Assistant. After 1.33 change login their plugin broke and we started receiving help requests on this issue.

Re: Instant notification on alarm + machine learning object detection

Yes there is interest. (Edited on Jan 22 to simplify) The ZM Event Server currently polls SHM to retrieve state. I had wanted to write an extension to zm_monitor to do what you did but never got around to doing it (plus C++ is not a language I am very comfortable with). Give you are a seasoned C/C++...

Re: Object/Face detection issues when using mlapi

I’m on the road but:

https://github.com/pliablepixels/zmeven ... igw.py#L24

Change
def set_classes(classes):

To

def set_classes(self,classes):

And make sure you reinstall the file (via pip or just copy over)

Re: Object/Face detection issues when using mlapi

Traceback (most recent call last): File "/var/lib/zmeventnotification/bin/zm_detect.py", line 327, in <module> m.set_classes(data['names']) No bbox etc. When run without mlapi it detects birds and benches in my garden and writes images. I emailed you the full log (tee foreground with mlapi). Mvh. T...

Re: Object/Face detection issues when using mlapi

Can you post debug logs from zm_detect.py when you use mlapi with processes=1? I'm not sure why its not writing bbox images, if write_debug_images and write_image_to_zm are yes.

Re: Object/Face detection issues when using mlapi

So... a) It looks like forked processes cannot access the GPU if the parent allocated resources for it. Spawned processes can (https://github.com/davisking/dlib/issues/617) which is why processes=1 works. I'll need to look into this more when I get back from my travels and am able to test with my GP...
