Re: Y-Cam HD-Pro

The OP has only one post (the one you replied to) so likely not about anymore -- but to sniff TCP traffic and discover these things, Google "tcpdump" and "wireshark" -- they can be very useful for spying on IP based devices to see what they are up to, including "Why can't I find the IP address of my...

Re: USB camera stop working after a while hardware\software problem?

"/dev/video0 /dev/video1 /dev/video10 /dev/video11 /dev/video12" So did you run that command when ZoneMinder was NOT WORKING? (Apparently refusing to capture from /dev/video0 as per your original screenshot?) That's a lot of video input devices. But 10,11,12 are because of https://www.raspberrypi.or...

Re: Pattern over dark areas

In the second picture, unless your camera is full of tadpoles, it looks like a printed circuit board pattern, maybe something like a BGA chip, but very zoomed in. https://macrofab.com/blog/escaping-bgas-methods-routing-traces-bga-footprints/ I would guess that with the IR-cut filter in place, you ar...

Re: USB camera stop working after a while hardware\software problem?

First problem :- You are using a Raspberry Pi with an inadequate power supply, which will cause you all sorts of odd behaviour, crashes, data corruption, problems with plugging in USB devices ... Under-voltage detected! That aside, when you plug in the USB camera and it works, you have a "/dev/video...

Re: Event directories dissapear

As part of the "everything" you tried, did you follow the advice to upgrade, as this is a known issue in the version you are using?

Re: Filter issue - Less than X time doesn't seem to work

It could be that "Less than" doesn't mean what you think it means. You're not the first to get caught. -60mins is "60 minutes ago". (Didn't ZM also support the literal "60 mins ago" ?) But "Less than" means a time value SMALLER THAN that, meaning over 60 minutes ago. Try "More than" (yes, that's cou...

Re: Directory Events magically disappeared!

So the question is what is web_php doing while ZM is not running at all? Although ZM is not "running" (by which you mean all capture processes are killed, all camera are freed up, no analysis occurs, no filing of stills or video, no database writing) -- the web interface is still operational. Are y...

Re: Understanding StartDate and EndDate Filters

Is there any functional difference between Start and End (date/Time)? The answer to that seems too obvious, but ... one filter option uses the START time of the event, and the other the END time of the event for filtering. As your events are probably shorter than a day each, then you'd see pretty m...

Re: Is My Camera Alive

... individual camera's are alive ... What kind of cameras (Network/IP Cameras, or analog connected to a capture card, or USB connected to a machine ...) ? That will affect how you go about checking them. For network cameras, I have a script (which also services all other networked devices), bounci...

Re: HD Analogue camera install

... Annke specific but Windows only app. There is an allocated IP for the camera/DVR set up of the type 192.xxx.x.xx. I'm assuming the DVR is open-standards enough to *also* provide you with a video stream/picture stream :- Then you need to look at the path and hostname you are using, and make sure...
