Remove (blank out) the Maximum FPS on the monitor. Treat it like the IP-CAMERA you've now converted it into by making it a HTTP stream.
IP Cameras do NOT use the max FPS field. If you were accessing /dev/video directly, you'd need it.

Re: Undersized PC?
I installed zoneminder 1.26.5 on a Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 1007U @ 1.50GHz with 4GB RAM. I connected 3 Ubiquiti Networks AirCam cameras: - 640 x 368 @ 3 fps (2) - 320 x 176 @ 3 fps. Do you think the PC is actually undersized? IMO: No. I'm running on a Intel Core 2, 1.8GHz, 3GB RAM, with 6 x IP Came...

Re: can ZM work from a saved file, not a stream?
Zoneminder can use File as a source, but from what I understand the file must be a JPEG and not a video. Untrue, at least in 1.25 -- I used a many-minute example video from my cameras as input to fine-tune the motion detection, running the same video through over and over until it was reliably dete...

Re: help with filters
I like your thinking, but I'm pretty sure that the "Date" and "Time" is OF THE EVENT we are considering, and not the current time and date of the filter running.
You need another strategy ... someone pitch in here ... ?

Re: Purge When Full not Working
Purge When Full not working. I have it set to 95% and the disk fills to 100%. I see events being purged in the log files but it never deletes the files on the hard drive. Is ZMAUDIT working and running, I think that the "Purge When Full" only removes the database entry, it's up to ZMAUDIT...

Re: Redirect Events and Images to NAS
- Mounting network shares via fstab works as long as the network share is available. On that thought, what happens when zmaudit discovers a database full of event entries, but the network share didn't mount/fell off? Won't it start going through the database saying "this event no longer exists...

Re: Slow Motion event viewing
See :- http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/Foscam Scroll down to the "&rate=D" bit, try appending that to your URL to control the frame rate. Does that help? Things aren't adding up because you are telling ZoneMinder to access the camera at 2 different frame rates, yet the camera ...

I entered the URL in the Firefox address bar and a site loads for Hector Lopez-Berges?
Insert the IP address of your camera there!
(Go on, try clicking on the example "cameraip" link posted, Hector Wossname blog comes up ...)

Re: Slow Motion event viewing
I think the answer is -- you don't! For an IP camera you set the frame rate at the camera end, and leave the boxes BLANK on ZoneMinder. Otherwise it gets confused. Your camera will be still sending 15fps approx -- there's no way for ZM to tell it to change rate. You've told Zoneminder that it's actu...

Re: Help with email filter
I don't like the logic of that time bit. There are no times greater than 17:30, that are ALSO less than 7:30 ... think about it. Those limits make sense to you as a human, but not to a machine :) Do you mean "AND ( NOT (TIME greater than 7:30 AND TIME less than 17:30) )" i.e. (and not duri...

Re: [SOLVED] Re: zma @ 100% per zone
when I originally set up zoneminder, I selected 'morecord', thinking this would mean 'record only when there is motion' I guess you now know that 'record only when there is motion' is spelled m-o-d-e-c-t :) morecord (mocord?) is record always, motion or not, but split the motion-bits from the non-m...

Re: Adding identical webcams to zoneminder
As (not the right solution) as it may be, I have a cron entry of: * * * * * chmod 666 /dev/video* Which fixes it (even on reboot). (Maybe an @reboot would have been better, but this also works for connected hardware - albeit at an up to 60 second delay). You are quite right however, my solution is ...

Cache growing to fill all memory is normal, Linux takes your unused memory and borrows it. If you really needed it, you'd get it back

Re: Adding identical webcams to zoneminder
FIXED! For anyone who is interested: # chmod 666 /dev/video* For some reason the video device was being added with different permissions. This fixes it! (Also upgraded to v1.27) Now, just to see if that really did fix it, reboot and remove/reattach the devices. Still fixed? Or did you lose the perm...

Or even more efficiently ...hesral wrote:what kind of video files are you creating?
Lets say you make .mp4 files.
Code: Select all
find /var/www/html/zm/events -type f -iname "*.mp4"
-type f - files only
-iname - case insensitive filename match
