Re: Event Hung

I wondered whether it's possible to specify a USB camera on a separate computer, by specifying the IP followed by device info? Probably unlikely, but just curious if anyone's had any success with that. I think so, I don't know the gory details, but Zoneminder can use ANOTHER Zoneminder's cameras as...

Re: Added HDD now getting directory errors

Does the directory "/usr/share/zoneminder//home/john/newdrive/events" exist? (Ignore the double slash when checking ...) It looks bogus, like you've managed to join "/usr/share/zoneminder/" and "/home/john/newdrive/events" ... Carefully review any changes you made to paths and prefixes, just in case...

Re: Email when camera stops working?

Hi all. Are there any funktion to get an email when a camera stops working in Zoneminder? Should be nice to know when it fails without login in and view now and then. BR Stefan This would be a handy feature. However, I think the only way to do this is to watch the system logs. Zoneminder is quite p...

Re: Dlink DCS-930L and audio

Does installing ffmpeg lets you record in both video and audio when switched over mpeg mode? Doesn't Zoneminder store all video as JPGs internally (even if you use ffmpeg?), and hence, there's STILL going to be no audio support? :( I like your lateral thinking, but don't fancy your chances of getti...

Re: Only need to display one IP camera at full screen on a P

Can the Pi hardware decode H264? Thanks. Maybe. http://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/7530/how-can-i-tell-if-my-raspberry-pi-supports-h-264-hardware-acceleration That link aside, it all depends on whether the stream from the camera can be handled directly into the hardware accelerator! For...

Re: Only need to display one IP camera at full screen on a P

(VLC) was pegging the CPU on the Pi and freezing the video. The camera will probably be returning something like Motion JPEG (older) or RTSP (newer) and there's no hardware acceleration for that on the PI, so it would all be software based. But that would be a problem for any software, not just VLC...

Re: Only need to display one IP camera at full screen on a P

If it's an IP Camera, and you don't want to record the output, what about a web browser running on the PI? In fact, some media player software may handle it, I wouldn't be surprised to find VLC could do it! To monitor the output of an IP camera, that's all you need usually ... Am I underthinking this?

Re: Mocord playback

I cannot playback any recordings! I can play back recordings made on the RECORD setting though. I open the event, and it shows one still but it does not play when I click play. Random thought: When you see that still, are you looking at Replay: "Single Events", "All Events" or "Gapless Events", and...

Re: Filter to exclude 1 monitor

In the filters page, where you can set up the rules, you need to add an extra line to your filter -- click the "+" half of the +/- icon at the right side. Then on the new line that pops up "and" "Monitor Name" "equal to" "P1" This will give you just events from P1. You could also do it as "not equal...

Re: Problem with filter

Consider the "limit to first X matches" option, it looks like it's trying to delete a LOT at once. This will make things run slowwwwly until it completes, in my experience. Try setting to "limit to first 100 matches" and run it more often (e.g. every 5 mins) and see if it will slowly eat down the "o...

Re: 24x7 camera monitor screen

you can create your own html page that will connect to the cameras directly. You can, and I have done for a low-calorie "montage" page. But the advantage of keeping a real live monitor open is the recent events list (just below) allows a quick wind-back to see what just happened! But on general pri...

Re: I cant view the cameras.. someting wrong but i don´t

i seen the picture where the source of ipcams is in red.. (maybe not conection) The ipcameras should not be showing up in red, this means they are not configured correctly or not operating at all! Your system load is practically zero, so it looks like ZoneMinder isn't doing anything at all -- nothi...

Re: 24x7 camera monitor screen

I don't know the solution, but do know that a single monitor left open will run happily for ages, until the desktop it's on gets a little bit busy, then it freezes. If the computer is busy for too long (10 seconds is enough), it stays frozen, otherwise it splutters back into life :) An F5 refreshes ...

Re: How to record last 24h?

I would like to add a continuous recording of the last 24 hours, which automatically discards older footage. Is that possibile? Yes. Set up a second "camera" entry, accessing the same physical camera. Configure it for "Function" as "Record" (not Modetect or Mocord) and set an appropriate frame rate...
