Re: Can zonminder service "crash" from low power?

Definitely sort out your power supply -- if you are getting under-voltage reports, and the CPU is throttling, you have an overloaded, defective or poor quality power supply. ZM crashing is a likely consequence, so is the whole system hanging, data corruption, and destruction of the contents of the m...

Re: Source stream cropping strikes back

'-filter:v crop=1000:740:640:480' perfectly Could anyone give me a hint how can i crop the source video stream (before processing by zm)? Two things :- Your command line seems to cut a 1000x740 box out of the source video, positioned 640 along and 480 down. Is that really what you meant? It's an un...

Re: calendar/time support enabling scheduleling when camera is on/off

... but the way I see it, these modes just replaces the start/stop states anyways. Then there would be no point having "states" if they are just other ways of saying start and stop. The normal "start -> running" state and "stop -> stopped" state are in addition to any you define, not instead of, or...

Re: calendar/time support enabling scheduleling when camera is on/off

great feature if all or selected cameras could be turned on/off based on time of day. Only way I found so far is to set up a cron task that in effect stop or start zm based on my cron schedule. There is a way to do this, you've nearly got it already. Instead of accepting the default "run states" of...

Re: Filter - odd behavior with "and" and "or"

Expect nothing, then you won't be disappointed.

However, I might expect a bald "-3" of a timestamp in Unix to mean 3 seconds before epoch (i.e. Wed Dec 31 23:59:57 GMT 1969)

This relates to events from before ZM existed :)

Re: Detect velocity of anomalies

(The guy with the gum must have walked up to the doorbell first.) Loom would just be a third dimension for that velocity. That would be the obvious first response, unfortunately he/she had some crab DNA, and came in from the side so as to evade capture. I'm not making this up ;) I'm doing the code ...

Re: Detect velocity of anomalies

I guess most people, like me, have their cams mounted out of reach and pointing downwards. True, but there are plenty of e.g. Amazon style doorbell cameras that point forward at around face height. That's the sort of thing I was thinking of. There are cases it won't catch, like if all the world is ...

Re: Detect velocity of anomalies

calculate a centre of gravity of the alarmed pixels/blobs ... That's the rough idea but some extra polishing would also be worthwhile. Be aware this algorithm will fail if a burglar walks directly towards the camera (sure, they will get bigger and Bigger and BIGGER, but their centre-of-blob will re...

Re: Camera security question

Why would we buy something like that? Ignorance. In the nicest possible way :) It's not always possible to know that something is insecure until someone discovers it (having pulled apart the firmware to discover the permanent non-documented non-changeable test user, or observed unusual network traf...

Re: Unusable picture (b/w and shifted) using 1.34

(Assuming your doors are vertical!)

Zooming in, it looks like it's off by *1* pixel per line (declared width 1 pixel less than actual width), and it IS in colour, but seems to be using some weird colour palette of 7 pastel colours, which is not the best ...

I just tested it, never having looked in there before :- "Docker You do not have the required permissions to read topics within this forum." This happened accidentally on one of the other sub-fora, it was a permission issue I think ... See :- https://forums.zoneminder.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=28941 ...

Re: Y-Cam HD-Pro

If the first three digit pairs aren't in any of the various OUI / MAC address lists findable on Google, then it's either not a MAC address at all (could be a huge random number allocated in production?) or the company is just using made up MAC addresses on the basis of -- "who cares?" TCPDump is the...

Re: Camers not viewable on lan when no internet connection.

I use local IP address for this situation, usually https://192.168.1.X/zm instead of the DNS name. Your browser may cry and whine about cert mismatch...but this approach always works for me. Also, the monitor source should be local IP, not any alpha name. Using local IP addresses should work for lo...

... after inserting the MAC address of your camera, do remember to try base64ing (encoding) it back the other way :) I don't know whether the raw or encoded password is what is needed here!
