Need a bit of help with shadows and motion alarms

Howdy, I have two external cameras - one in my front porch and one in my backyard. They both seem to get a bit too much of false motion alerts due to shadows, specifically when the sun hides behind clouds and comes out from the clouds. My porch camera has a total of 6 zones, the backyard camera has ...

Re: (Closed) 1.28.1 Upgrade not updating database

Well the short answer to your question to why is because you were in there hacking around. The config variable you mentioned was not added or modified by 1.28.1 so you would have to dig deeper just to figure out why it was missing from your dB in the first place. Sounds like you got everything work...

Re: (Closed) 1.28.1 Upgrade not updating database

Final update: Okay - I think I fixed everything. It appears that the zmupdate script was not adding a row into the Config table; specifically - this row: insert into Config set Id = 42, Name = 'ZM_FFMPEG_OPEN_TIMEOUT', Value = '10', Type = 'integer', DefaultValue = '10', Hint = 'integer', Pattern = ...

Re: (Closed) 1.28.1 Upgrade not updating database

Alright - so I updated, modified Base.pm in 5.14.2 directory, then ran the update script followed by starting up ZM. Unfortunately - now it complains about this: Config mismatch, expected 216 items, read 215. Try running 'zmupdate.pl -f' to reload config. So I stop the service, ran zmupdate.pl -f; i...

Re: (Closed) 1.28.1 Upgrade not updating database

SON OF A BIZNATCH! Found it!!!!!!!!!!! So - you're right, there was a stale file: /usr/local/share/perl/5.14.2/ZoneMinder/Base.pm For whatever reason, it was not being updated - I don't know why, but it simply wasn't. For sanity, I will be doing a clean upgrade (revert the VM) - and will report. Sta...

Re: (Closed) 1.28.1 Upgrade not updating database

Must be a stale file, then. I double checked configure.ac several time and it points to 1.28.1: root@lulzsec:/usr/src/ZoneMinder-1.28.1# cat configure.ac | grep AC_INIT AC_INIT(zm,1.28.1,[http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/ - Please check FAQ first],zoneminder,http://www.zoneminder.com/downloads.html)...

Re: (Closed) 1.28.1 Upgrade not updating database

Here's another interesting tidbit - I tried to manually update the DB (run the commands in mysql cli) and while the UI now displays the 1.28.1 version in blue as opposed to red, ZM service fails to start, stating the following: Feb 18 10:55:33 lulzsec zmpkg[14428]: FAT [Version mismatch, system is v...

Re: (Closed) 1.28.1 Upgrade not updating database

I don't know if it matter at all - but this is what the DB reports prior to compiling the update:

Re: (Closed) 1.28.1 Upgrade not updating database

The current tarball contents looks correct. Make sure you are starting from a clean state before you (re)build. Make-uninstall the previous attempt. When you expand the source files, open the file configure.ac. The second line, AC_INIT, should be at 1.28.1. If that is not the case, then you somehow...

Re: (Closed) 1.28.1 Upgrade not updating database

Hello,

I just downloaded the tarball form the website, literally minutes ago, and it is still not working right:

Code: Select all

root@lulzsec:/usr/src/ZoneMinder-1.28.1/scripts# perl ./zmupdate.pl --version=1.28.0 --user=root --pass=xxxxxxx

Database already at version 1.28.0, update aborted.

Re: no email sent

It's actually easy - you have to define an alert variable that the system will act upon. In my case - I have it act whenever there cause of an alert is motion so my filter looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/ndu0tFm.png When the filter is executed, it creates a video of the event, uploads it to my o...
