Re: How To Upgrade

A better spot for the "sleep 15 is above echo -n "Starting $prog: "

start() {
sleep 15
echo -n "Starting $prog: "

Re: How To Upgrade

I need to add that if you use the package installers version of /etc/init.d/zoneminder , Zoneminder will not start before MySQL. You need to add a delay to the Zoneminder start script: nano /etc/init.d/zoneminder Add below: prog=ZoneMinder sleep 15 This is documented in: http://www.zoneminder.com/wi...

Re: How To Upgrade

The ZM 1.27 version is now on the PPA repository

apt-get update

then
apt-get dist-upgrade

Worked for me twice!

Re: Successful upgrade from 1.26.5 on Ubuntu 13.10

You can use the Ubuntu install at: http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/Ubuntu_Server_12.04_64-bit_with_Zoneminder_1.26.5_the_easy_way You do have to add the delay to : /etc/init.d/zoneminder. To the package installers version of the file add sleep 15 as shown: start() { sleep 15 echo -n "Starti...

ZM 1.26.5 with Ubuntu 14.04 nightly release

Happy to report that ZM 1.26.5 is provided with Ubuntu14.04 and I was able to get it to work...almost. Installed Ubuntu 14.04 from the nightly build 64 bit .iso Installed Zoneminder (apt-get install zoneminder) Created Symbolic Link: ln -s /etc/zm/apache.conf /etc/apache2/conf-enabled/zoneminder.con...

Re: Install problem (Linux Mint 16)

Well, I would guess that Mint 16 has Apache 2.4. So you will run into the same problem that we've had with Ubuntu 13.10. See http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/Ubuntu_13.10_-_Apache_2.4_with_Zoneminder_configuration_changes And if you get Mint 16 to show you the video from the camera, please p...

Re: Can't link zoneminder to apache.

If you are using Ubuntu 13.10 there have been some changes to Apache. Unfortunately, I've not been able to get ZM running on a fresh install of 13.10. I recommend you drop back to Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and follow these instructions: http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/Ubuntu_Server_12.04_64-bit_with...

Re: User Logins broken

Something to try: Add your timezone to the php.ini file. In Ubuntu.. sudo nano /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini Look for: ; date.timezone = remove the ; and add your timezone date.timezone = America/New_York See: http://php.net/manual/en/timezones.php for list of acceptable entries. I noticed that this see...

1.26.5 Ubuntu 13.10 No Video

I've installed Ubuntu 13.10 with mini 64 BIT install, Basic Server, Open SSH Server and LAMP. Used the following to install ZM: Get the install package from PPA: wget https://launchpad.net/~iconnor/+archive/zoneminder/+build/5355764/+files/zoneminder_1.26.5-1_amd64.deb Install the package and depend...

Re: Zoneminder 1.25.0 & Ubuntu 13.10

Thanks for the idea! I was able to get 1.26.5 running on Ubuntu 13.04 then do an upgrade to 13.10. Had to move the zoneminder.conf from /etc/apache2/conf.d to /etc/apache2/sites-enabled then restart Apache. Will save copies of the various config files, reinstall a clean 13.10 and see what is differe...

Re: 1.26.5 stuck in Alarm

I need to add that since I "adjusted" the reference image blend values ZM seems to be running smoother. By that I mean that the playback events are less jumpy and the streamed video is better! I had slowed down the frame rate on most of my cameras to fix the lock up issue. Am now considering pushing...

Re: Video capturing but no image feed on the monitors

Sorry, I do not know Centos. I could, however, take a guess that the newest version used the same Apache version that Ubuntu 13.10 uses. I've not been able to get ZM working on 13.10...has the same results you have reported.

Re: 1.26.5 stuck in Alarm

Thanks for the info!
Is there a reason the indoor and outdoor Reference Image Blend is "recommended" to 6.25% and 12.5% respectively?

Is there documentation posted for this change and the cause/effect to the system/alarm state?

1.26.5 stuck in Alarm

Ubuntu 12.04 server running ZM 1.26.5 (upgrade from 1.26.4) "sticks" in an Alarm state. Of the 15 cameras on the system just about every one has stuck sometime since the upgrade. As a test I set up a fresh install of 1.26.5 on a server with two USB cameras connected. Each of them got stuck in an ala...
