Re: Cannot display events in Chrome

Did you use these instructions?
https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Ubuntu_Serv ... der_1.30.4

You may need to:
IMPORTANT FINAL STEP: Open Zoneminder in a web browser (http://server-ip/zm). Click on Options - Paths and change PATH_ZMS to /zm/cgi-bin/nph-zms

Or just use Firefox.

Re: Montage broken in Chrome, works fine in Firefox?

Use Firefox.
As far as I remember Chrome has never worked to show Montage. There may be a tweak for Chrome as there is in Firefox but I've never taken the time to find it.

Re: Zoneminder on Ubuntu 18.04 - Odroid XU4 (ARMHF)

Actually the ffmpeg source type does work on my Pi 3B+. The Storage/Video Writer is not compatible with Arm processors and needs to be disabled. Enabling Storage/Save JPEGS/Frames only does jpeg files quite well!

You can use the install script on the Zoneminder wiki. I have use it on a Pi 3 B+ running Bionic. You may not get support for ffmpeg. I used local and remote cameras successfully.

Re: Ubuntu 18.04: MySQL or MariaDB for Zoneminder

Mariadb seems to work better for me. Had to replace a 17 camera server a while back and went with Bionic and Mariadb. System seems to use less memory than with MySQL.

Re: No errors, "capturing", but no image.

Camera resolution in Zoneminder does not match camera output. Use VLC (Tools, Media Information, Codec) to check camera Display Resolution.

Bionic Server on Pi 3 B+

Playing with my Pi 3 B+ I was able to get a copy of Bionic Mate running with the WIFI enabled. So I thought why not pare it down to just a server version. I uninstalled Mate, added server, a swap file and tweaked the network to be activated with netplan. Also fixed a couple of errors that came up at...

Re: Spiders

As you said spiders like bugs. Bugs are attracted to IR light from the cameras thus the big hairy ones weave a web right in front. I solved the problem by using LED floods located away from the camera that light the area to be watched.

Re: Ubuntu 18.04 ZM Installation Help

The best way to get a bare minimum install of Ubuntu is to use the MinimalCD installer: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/MinimalCD This downloads a file called mini.iso. Burn it to a CD or make a bootable USB Thumbdrive. Plenty of instructions out there to do that... Boot the PC from t...

Do you have them set up as multi server?
You also need to tell us your Linux distro and version.

Re: Is ZoneMinder good for securing/rebroadcasting RTSP streams?

We have a system set up that uses a LAN network of 192.168.1.0/24 and the Zoneminder server has a static IP on this network. All the cameras, on the same physical ethernet, are assigned IP's in the 192.168.10.0/24 subnet. The single NIC on the Zoneminder server has a second IP address in the 192.168...

Better to use the systemd mount procedure. See the wiki for the how to.
