I have nothing in /var/www, so I guess this depends on the distro. Where ever you moved the folders from to your share is where the symlinks should go. Just make sure the events folder is moved before creating the symlink.

Sure, for example: ln -s /media/zoneminder/zoneminder/events /var/cache/zoneminder ln -s /media/zoneminder/zoneminder/temp /var/cache/zoneminder ln -s /media/zoneminder/zoneminder/images /var/cache/zoneminder The original folders are in /var/cache/zoneminder (which I assume you already moved to your...

The think not to do is change the paths at all in the config, put those back to what they were. Instead, create symlinks where the events path etc used to be to point to your new share. That way, the config will look in the same place, but the symlinks will map across to the new location. Have read ...

Am going to write mine up and get it on here ASAP. Would recommend you just check your permissions on the network share, as above. Zoneminder needs the right access, not just in the folder it is writing events to, but all the way to the top level, AFAIK So, start at the folder your share is mounted ...

FYI, just fixed this here: http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=62804 Many thanks to marcio I had overlooked the permissions at the top level of my new drive and ran the following suggested by marcio: chmod 777 /media/zoneminder chmod 777 /media/zoneminder/zoneminder chmod 777 /media/zon...

Also, ls -l from inside the events folder, if someone could compare it with theirs, would be great: root@ZONEMINDER1:/media/zoneminder/zoneminder/events# ls -l total 396 drwxrwxrwx 1708 777 www-data 36864 2010-06-21 07:35 2 drwxrwxrwx 4077 777 www-data 69632 2010-06-20 22:21 3 drwxrwxrwx 6560 777 ww...

thanks for the tips! Have also added the symlinks to /usr/share/zoneminder Still getting the following error: Jun 23 17:23:26 ZONEMINDER1 zms[13273]: ERR [Can't open /usr/share/zoneminder/events/3/12682/001-capture.jpg: Permission denied] Here is the permission read out from my media directory: root...

I am also having the same problem if you managed to solve this. Loads of threads on moving the events directory to another drive, but no solutions!

I am having the same issue, have read a few posts but have seen no conclusive answer on simply moving the events dir What I did: Moved the events, images and temp directories from /var/cache/zoneminder to my second hard drive Created symlinks in /var/cache/zoneminder to point to the new drive folder...

Unfortunately, couldn't get a picture at all this time around, think I did everything the same as last time downloaded driver instal...

hi all! Just a quick post to say thanks for the work done on the TW6800 driver, great there is some improvement on that, very exciting. I wish I could help a little more, but am limited as to when I can test the card, with it being running live currently. Will hopefully get some more time to play wi...

Robby,

Looks like you have the same card as me.

Unfortunately, the driver isn't specifically designed to work with 6800 cards. I got the exact same bars on the side of my image. I also got the same thing with the driver stopping after a while.

thanks for that Bill well, compiled and installed OK and I got video!! Although, it lasted for about 30 seconds before the preview window went green, mplayer now gives an input/output error, as does xawtv v4l2: ioctl dequeue buffer failed: Input/output error, idx = 0 So, there is something there tha...
