[SOLVED] I broke my Zoneminder...mmap errors

Help...I had 1.24.4 running beautifully on a Core 2 Duo machine. Took a week to get it working just so. Then today I was screwing around trying to install a command-line mp3 player on my headless system, tried a few that I shouldn't have (uninstalled them), and now ZM is completely broken. zmc won't...

I think my lag was constant. But it was so bad I didn't stay to watch. What you are describing was mentioned by another poster in another thread - I asked if it was resolved and did not hear back, unfortunately. If you can live with a 12 second delay (constant or not) you're a better person than me....

Try leaving the capture fps blank or set it very high (10fps or higher). I discovered on my new 1.24 installation that when the fps is low (my typical value was 3fps on 1.23 to keep CPU load down) there was a terrible lag in the video. 3fps lagged by 12 seconds, 5fps something like 8 seconds. Not su...

Ubuntu logging

I'm placing this here so that others may find it with a search. I read that as of Ubuntu 9.10, sysklogd has been replaced with rsyslog. The configuration file for the local1 facility edits changed from /etc/syslog.conf to /etc/rsyslog.d/50-default.conf. Make the edits outlined in the Wiki as needed ...

Confirming now that the delay is directly proportional to the frame rate in ZM. If I choose 5fps, my image is delayed 8 seconds. 3fps, I'm delayed 12 seconds. 30fps, delay near zero. I wonder if something changed with respect to the way ZM 1.24 is handing buffers (i.e., it calculates something by fr...

Yamanipanuchi, Did you ever solve this? I just upgraded (?) to 1.24.2 and I'm having the same problem. The buffer settings, as far as I can tell, are the same from my 1.23 installation which only had a 1-2 second delay. With 1.24.2 this is much much worse - as you said, 10-20 seconds after the event...

In my case I had to issue cd /usr/local/lib rm -rf libjpeg.so.62 ln -s /opt/libjpeg-turbo/lib/libjpeg.so.62.0.0 libjpeg.so.62 service zoneminder restart Then "lsof | grep jpeg" at the command line shows I'm using /opt/libjpeg-turbo/lib/libjpeg.so.62.0.0. I think the line export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/...

[SOLVED] Slow interface?

Argh...helps to select "High" bandwidth profile...LOL ------------ I'm just doing a fresh install of 1.24.2 on Ubuntu 10.04 server. Everything is working well, but there is terrible lag in the interface when I try to view a monitor. For example, if I click the monitor name in the main console window...

Logray, I bypass basic auth by editing .htaccess and including an "allow from nn.nn.nn.nn" where that is my IP address. I am willing to accept the very slight risk that my ISP will give away the "dynamic" IP address I've had for the last 3 years and someone who gets that address might know which por...

I'm sort of tabling this for now. It works, but because Windows will only view sidebar gadgets using the IE rendering engine (instead of, say, Firefox), you can't use mode=stream, you have to use mode=jpeg. This is OK but it leads to a *tremendous* number of mysql connections on the ZM server and I'...

Windows 7 Sidebar Gadget ZM Viewer

I'm developing a really simple Windows 7 Sidebar Gadget that is a ZM viewer (it does refreshed stills, not streaming, though you can specify a <1s refresh rate). Is anyone else interested in this? Mine isn't extremely portable at the moment - you have to edit the HTML file for the gadget to match yo...
