Baby Monitor possibilty

I don't know if this is the right forum, so if it should go somewhere else, let me know! Has anyone thought of using ZM as a baby monitor? I'd like video and audio to be streamed to both Audrey clients and PCs in (and out) of the house. I've been searching the forum and haven't been able to clarify ...

Sorry, it was late and I was mistaken. I did a make uninstall, and then dropped the databases. (The databases were originally installed through a manual build on FC2, then rpm upgrades in FC3, and I used the same db with a fresh zoneminder install in FC5). I did this, because the database was the on...

Sorry for resurrecting a dead thread, but to put closure to my issue: After fully uninstalling the rpms and re-creating the databases, my processes no longer go defunct.

thanks, that did the export. Next weekend I'll uninstall 1.22.0 and install 1.22.1 to a clean database and see if I still get the defunct issues.

Export Mysql monitors and settings

As I'm still grappling with the zm processes going defunct, I'd like to do a full clean install to ensure that nothing from previous builds/configs is influencing the current install. Is there any way to: - Export Monitor and ZoneMinder settings for reference purposes. - Clean out an older install A...

I don't think I have anything odd being sent to the scripts -- I wouldn't know how to send something even if I wanted! :) at 8:15 this morrning only zmfilter.pl went defunct. In reviewing the debug logs, I got two interesting events: 04/18/06 06:49:56.718953 zma_m8[16898].ERR-zm_event.cpp/58 [Can't ...

Thanks for the reply. It looks a little different than last time, as I've added an additional monitor, and the zma process for the second monitor has also gone defunct. Not much in zmdc.log. I have cron'd a job that runs every five minutes and runs wget against zm. If it dies, it will copy the logs,...

I did a fresh FC5 install, and compiled/installed zoneminder from source and I still get processes going defunct. It takes about 1.5 days now (from 1 day before), but I'm getting the similar behaviour. I am, however, using the same zm database from my previous installation. As there are no events th...

ZoneMinder going defunct?

Since 1.21.4 (and now also in 1.22.0) the zm processes seem to go defunct after a few hours. I have no idea why, sometimes zm runs for days, other times only a couple of hours. This is what a process listing looks like: apache 9016 1 0 02:00 ? 00:00:00 /usr/bin/perl -wT /usr/lib/zm/bin/zmdc.pl start...

SOLVED

Strangely enough, it wasn't a database issue -- but rather a directory permission issue. the apache account didn't have write access to /var/lib/zm . root:apache was the owner/group, however the mod was rwxr-xr-x . Granted group write access and everything started a-ok.

FC3 rpm upgrade from 1.21.4 -> 1.22.0-1.7 can't start

I just downloaded and upgraded my 1.21.4 rpm install to the 1.22.0-1.7 lastest. rpm upgrade went OK, however I have to manually upgrade the database, as trying to start it using /etc/init.d/zm start kept giving me 'manually run the upgrade script' I ran zmfix.pl, zmupgrade.pl -f and zmupdate.pl --ve...

Cool, I started some great discussion. I will look at the zmtrack.pl script. Currently, I've set a trigger script that calls /usr/lib/zm/bin/mhalert The mhalert script contains two command; /usr/local/mh/bin/mhsend -run 'ZM Motion' echo $1 >> /usr/local/mh/data/zm.txt I have a voice command within m...

Found it, however does the filter get activated in real-time, or just when browsing. What I want is real-time notification of motion such that my MisterHouse system can either speak or IM me, and then I can use ZM to review and analyze.

Any ideas?

Is notification to an external program possible?

This may be obvious, however I am not seeing any mechanism to do what I want. I use the Misterhouse home automation program as the central hub for my house events. I am trying to think of a way to use the excellent ZoneMinder camera monitoring system to alert Misterhouse as to when there is motion d...
