Re: Bosch Flexidome IP Camera

Can you stream from this camera at all? Maybe into Internet Explorer?
If so then you could use a packet sniffer like Wireshark and figure out the correct url from that.

A lot of manufacturers keep their protcols secret so as to encourage you to buy their DVR SW I think.

Re: Zoneminder system runs into disk problems after 2 months

Seems WD AV drives are not suitable for main OS / database drive because apparently they skip a lot of error checking to increase their AV streaming performance. http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/wd-av-drives-not-desktop-use-t4037903p3.html I use a 500GB Samsung as the main drive on my server and a 1...

Re: Zoneminder 1.24.3/1.24.4 on Fedora 15

Same problem on Fedora 15. [root@pimserver ~]# /usr/bin/zmpkg.pl start Bareword "PROT_READ" not allowed while "strict subs" in use at /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/ZoneMinder/Memory/Mapped.pm line 91. Bareword "PROT_WRITE" not allowed while "strict subs" in us...

Re: Zoneminder 1.24.3/1.24.4 on Fedora 15

I've not quite got it working on F15 yet but the compile errors you received are all fixed by putting
CFLAGS=-D__STDC_CONSTANT_MACROS
into the zoneminder ./configure parameters

Re: Camera image gone un-viewable, are my cameras just rubbi

This is how internal cameras eg webcams eventualy go when subjected to full external sunlight. It looks like they don't have an auto iris in the lens and that the CCD has been damaged.

Re: Axis P1344 Stuck in Slow Mo?

What are your frame rate settings on the camera and in ZM?

Try settin the frame rate on the camera and leave the frame rate blank on ZM.

What frame rate are you using and did you set it on the camera or in Zoneminder?

Re: Fresh install on Mint Linux

This is likely a shared memory problem. Try the script suggested here:
http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewto ... 21&t=17595

You would probably find that if you reduced the resolution to 320 x 240 it would work and that would confirm it as a shared memory problem.

It sounds like the CPU is too low powered. Have you tried installing libjpeg-turbo ?

Yes, that is normal. You need a card with 4 BT chips on to get acceptable frame rate.

Current version of Zoneminder only allows you to store in jpg but the rencently announced version 2 will allow storage in a kind of mpg but that will be "Beta" and may not be stable enough for parents for some time.

Only the most expensive cards can switch cameras fast enough to do 15fps, Ebay quality cards are a bit hit and miss with their quality, seems 2fps is as good as yours will allow when switching between cameras.

shmall is the total size of RAM linux is permitted it to use. The value you calculated should go in shmmax. The value you should put in shmall should be something a bit less than the total RAM on the machine.
