Another solution is to edit
/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/apache2.service

and change
PrivateTmp=false

then restart systemd and related services or restart the computer.

Nevermind. After I ran this, zmfix works fine. No errors.

I found this issue with zmfix as well on 1.24.3 preview. I disabled sudo because that command wasn't working. If sudo doesn't work, zmpkg then tries su. interesting. the server running zoneminder for me is a 1ghz 512mb ram system. what do you have your frame rate set to on your dcs-900's? I noticed much better performance when I set it to 1 fps. I'm going to try auto detect in a few days after benchmarking what i currently have.

after switching my DCS-900 to video.cgi, my CPU is now at 80-90 %.

I only have one camera setup so far also!
