...The support from them is certainly not like CentOS and using them definitely puts you on your own for support. They are there but use at your own risk. Thanks for that. I'm happy enough tinkering about in Linux with yum/rpm etc installation of non-standard packages. I'll look into that. ... The ...

ZM is likely streaming but, my guess with the url and more specifically your last post would lead me to believe you are only getting jpeg snapshots from the camera. I assume the IPCam's own page uses a video stream to the build-in web-server in the camera, but whether I am grabbing off that video s...

What kind of frame rate are you getting with your current setup? Have you attempted or is the camera even capable of an mjpeg stream? Configured for: Max FPS 2.0 Alarm Maximum FPS 4.0 On screen seeing "Status: Idle - 2.00 fps","Status: Idle - 2.40 fps" and "Status: Alarm - ...

Have you used it at night yet? I've not had good luck, heard much good about IR cameras. I'm curious as to the quality (day and night), and wouldn't mind a screen shot if you don't mind. The price sounds nice. Don't get your hopes up about the night vision! The product documentation claims 5m for t...

It's not in zm, it's on a distro I created based on FC3. Aha! That'll perhaps explain why I can't find it on my CentOS-based installation! :o NB: the link to get the FC of CentOS RPMs off the link on http://www.zoneminder.com/downloads.html resulted in a "This domain is expired." message.

Actualy, don't do any of the above as it's not correct and I have done all that work already for you. If you type setup in the console it will display a menu for you, select the firewall. You will see some check box options and one of them will be www and you need to check that. You can also add 44...

From your initial post I assume therefore you are running a web-server (httpd) on port 80. Have you therefore set a line like DirectoryIndex index.html index.htm index.shtml zm.php in the httpd.conf file? The default for DirectoryIndex (I'm assuming Apache here) does not include .php files; and so y...

pdown, congrats on finding something useful for this crappy thing :) Do you mind posting your scripts to get the jpgs? Congrats are really due elsewhere ( http://majordomo.squawk.com/njs/blog/2006/03/extracting-jpeg-or-jpg-from-linksys.html ): I just re-used/adapted the suggested method. The key li...

I think if it had have been the driveway I'd have tried to do a better job of stamping on the tree! (had I been around at the time of course ... I'm much too young!)

How did you get to those individual jpeg's? By URL? Using mplayer , I do the following. execute a script using a cron scheduled task the script logs on to the web-cam retrieves a single frame image from Linksys WVC54G using mplayer copies the jpg image file to a Linux file-structure location config...

I managed to achieve pulling single frame JPGs off this web-cam as input to Zoneminder. If I cron job it I manage to pull about 4 -5 frames every minute without overloading the Linux box too much. Not perhaps idea for motion detection (to put it mildy!) but it does give me at least a picture "s...

Changing the image size in ZM will not work unless you change the size of the image as well and they have to match. So you can't set ZM for 320x240 if the image is 640X480. Excellent stuff! Many thanks. In fact I was unsure of the size of the image I was capturing from the Linksys - it was 640x480 ...
