Note however, due to Zoneminder actually getting into debian TESTING and staying there for more than 5 minutes (thanks to Vagrant Cascadian, an Ubuntu developer who uses zm at freegeek.org and has become co-maintainer) there won't be any more updates until - hopefuly - squeeze is released with zm in...

I think that would be a question for the ubuntu guys. There have been quite a few recent issues with ubuntu updates breaking zoneminder, but more commonly because it changes the start order so zm attempts to start before mysql is ready to accept it. This is one of the reasons I've returned to Debia...

Hi there! The database is missing, but when I install using apt-get the database should be created, or am I imagining things? My guess is that there's enough of the package left that it thinks that zoneminder is still installed so it's doing an upgrade rather than a fresh install. Try purging zonem...

Any chance next release to have a second package compiled with libjpeg-turbo. Rather or in addition to the normal one. http://sourceforge.net/projects/libjpeg-turbo/files/ The key issue there is whether it gets packaged for Debian/Ubuntu. At the moment I don't see a package for it in Debian Unstable.

Phil, have you done anything about this yet? I've got a bug logged in Debian against this problem, and _someone_ uploaded a "fixed" version of the package (to the Debian repo) to deal with this. Pity the fix broke streaming :-(

I think the problem is that that line makes it resolve on the builder's side, rather than doing the default install (I could be wrong though). Anyway that line's gone and there is an updated package on its way into the Debian repository.

Probably not. I haven't looked at the build options for a while (apart from getting things like upgrade working again). I'll look into it.

zoneminder_1.24.2-1 for debian and ubuntu

Sorry for the delay in this; combination of work and slackness has delayed this.

Anyway, the debian version should be into unstable by the time you read this. For
ubuntu, ftp://ftp.northern-ridge.com.au/zonemin ... untu/9.04/ contains the 32- and 64-bit packages for jaunty.

Code: Select all

ln -s /etc/zm/apache.conf /etc/apache2/conf.d/zm.conf
And restart apache.

I'd love to be able to suggest something, but unless the line's mangled (which I doubt) I've got a blank.

The only thing that springs to mind is: did apache get upgraded as part of the zoneminder package install?

Re: Zoneminder on Debian MIPS

Would it be safe to say Zoneminder could be compiled from the main source and ran on a Debian Mips based setup? I've got a very unique device going and if I have the time want to get Zoneminder up and running on it. The one thing I can think of you'll need to watch (from packing it up for Debian) i...

Pull the debian source package; there's no difference on the source side.
