Re: Alarm Frame Count

Agreed, but it isn't built in yet correct?

Also, this still seems like key functionality that at least doesn't work as expected for me. Am I doing something wrong? I must be if no one else is feeling this pain.

Re: Alarm Frame Count

I know this a dead horse, but it is so painful for my setup. I get hundreds of alarms from rain and snow and they are all below the currently configured Alarm Frame count = 5.

Is this a bug still? I can't seem to work around it on 1.37.46

Re: Vehicle direction detection with two zones

I solved this with a workaround where I went back to two Active zones on each end of the perpendicular roadway. I examine the alarmed frames and grab the first alarm frame and then its associated zone id. Just add this script to your "Recording" option "Event Start Command" in yo...

Event "cause" not in order

I'm wondering why the event cause does not order the zone names as they were alarmed?
Oddly, the event notes seem to be in the opposite order, but also unreliable.

I'm trying to detect direction of vehicles and having mixed results. If the order of zone alarms was consistent, I would be happy.

Vehicle direction detection with two zones

I am running 1.37 with a monitor configured with two zones in order to detect vehicle direction on a road. It works mostly very well so far, but occasionally I have both zones show as the "cause". I have tried changing the zone type to exclusive, which seemed like a better choice than &quo...

Re: Alarm Frame Count

I see that the default under the "Analysis" settings is set to "Analysis FPS = 2".
I did not change this setting from the default. What should it be set to for a stream sending 15fps?

Thanks

Re: Alarm Frame Count

Old thread, I know, but I think I'm seeing the same behavior on 1.37.42 Any chance this regressed? I have two active zones for the monitor. I was getting false alarms and raised the alarm frame count to 3, but still see the same type of false alarms with alarm frames < 3. These are the exact events ...

Re: 1.37.5 run process on new event

Thanks!

Fixed with chown/chgrp to www-data, but I think the real problem was the log it was writing to was created the first time it ran as root.

Thanks for the help!

Re: 1.37.5 run process on new event

I'm having a little trouble with this. I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but I can't get the script to execute. I saw one ERR in syslog when I first created the script and it was owned by root. I changed ownership to the local user as an attempt to resolve the problem, but that hasn't helped an...

Best camera viewer Linux or android app

I've been using tinycam for years to view my cameras on tablets and keep the load of doing so off of my ZM server. It seems there isn't much new support anymore so I'm wondering what other people use or know of for options. Maybe my thinking is wrong and I should just use the ZM console, but I was v...

Re: USB dedicated storage question

Thanks for the replies on this. The only difference I can see from the procedure bbunge referenced above that I did not do is to remove the original events and images directories. Remove or events and images directories rm -r /var/cache/zoneminder/events rm -r /var/cache/zoneminder/images I guess th...

Re: USB dedicated storage question

Yes. I did that because it was also part of the blog instructions, but I guess I'm not sure if I need to create the config file or if I need to add a another storage device in the GUI since the blog process uses the default mount points and so my default ZM storage shows up as the newly added USB HD...

USB dedicated storage question

I followed these instructions and it went well: https://zoneminder.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html But it is not clear to me if I need to do this too because I see my only default storage now shows the capacity of the external hdd: https://zoneminder.readthedocs.io/en/latest/installationguide/dedicate...
