Re: moving out from docker

All settings are stored in the db. Events, however may be lost. You 'can' save events, but it's more trouble, so if you don't need them, then just backup and restore the db from docker. # Backup docker exec CONTAINER /usr/bin/mysqldump -u root --password=root DATABASE > backup.sql # Restore cat back...

Re: ZM Email

So it is using msmtp then? You can add debugging printfs to the zm_filter.pl fairly easily (if necessary...). But first enable debugging in msmtp. Not sure how that's handled but in ssmtp you could enable debugging (Debug=YES), and then logs in /var/log/mail.log would have verbose details. There are...

Re: Single stream without authentication

If it's only one camera, setup a 2nd VM or RPI for ZM.

Ugly, but easier than mucking around in the code or apache permissions.

Re: Live view OK but recordings choppy?

Is it an issue of resources: Lower FPS and resolution. Does that work?

Can also tune by changing source type, and possibly disabling JPEG storage in favor of passthrough... Using linked monitors...

What is the make/model of the camera? Some cameras work better than others.

Re: ZM Email

In my older ZM, sendmail is an alias to ssmtp. Is yours an alias to msmtp? :/usr/lib$ ls -l sendmail lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 16 Jul 14 2014 sendmail -> ../sbin/sendmail :/usr/sbin$ ls -l sendmail lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 5 Jul 14 2014 sendmail -> ssmtp Note that ssmtp doesn't work in buster, with all e...

Re: Capture freezes after about 8 seconds

Could be a few things. Start by lowering FPS, and resolution. You didn't mention what CPU / motherboard you are using. ARM will have trouble with 1920x1080, esp. higher FPS. Some cameras have poor compatibility. That is always a possibility. w/RPI it's common to see capture start, then fail after re...

Re: create a code that change the "Running State"?

Did you enable the API?

Test the API without auth, first.

That file listing is correct. You aren't missing any files there.

Re: Display one camera only.

https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Example_Camera_View_HTML You don't have to use keys, username and password is enough. The /dev/video change may be related to udev, but search online, this is a common issue. e.g. https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/issues/3003 which recommends using one of the more ...

Re: Single board computer hardware question

This kind of performance, you have to test in practice. There is really no easy way to tell otherwise. Depends upon camera, FPS, resolution... Lots of factors.

ARM is typically limited.

This being a reolink, you might want to check viewtopic.php?f=10&t=25874&hilit=reolink

I don't use these cameras myself, though.

Not SSD. There are only three spinning HDD manufacturers. Take your pick.

Re: Best and cheapest option to run zoneminder

Going to depend upon FPS, Resolution, etc... Generally you want x86-64 for high CPU processing. ARM is limited in that respect.

Re: Hardware sufficient for 7 Cameras?

Going to depend upon FPS / analysis settings.

You can try to add things, and scale back FPS / resolution as needed.

These systems are quite flexible.
