Maybe you put a zm on the 169 net and scan from there? Then save the monitor config and restore it to the .10 "real" zm?

Did you try Monitor->Storage->Video Writer->Camera Pass Through?

I forget how right now, but you need to turn logs on in vlc. the default is off. I'm suspecting (hoping, really) that there must be some overriding setting to actually enable/disable the settings you've described... Unless it really is some firewall thing, but those usually only block *unsolicited* ...

Do those network settings on the camera persist through a power -off?
I don't think anthing is gonna work if nmap can't see those ports. Unless there's some magic something that turns them on?

Pretty sure you can just run zmupdate.pl
It reads the db and adds, renames or deletes tables to match the present version.
