Monitors Not Loading Images?
Hello, I installed a fresh physical server with: Debian10 and ZoneMinder 1.36.20. Server has 10TB and 16GB of RAM. The database, I copied over the db I had in the previous ZoneMinder 1.34 installation. After I dumped all the data into mariadb, I then ran zmupdate.pl -f After that, things started to ...

Re: 1.36.19 Decoding is not keeping up
I just setup a new Debian10 server and ZoneMinder 1.36.20
I'm getting this error in the Logs... and I have about 50% of the cameras recording.
Any idea if I can make a change and have them record?
The same cameras were previously recording in ZoneMinder 1.34

Re: 1.36.20 throwing an error.
I suspect that zmupdate.pl -f was not run. Thank you! I just installed a scratch-new server with Debian10, and Zoneminder 1.36.20 as of right now. I then dumped my old zoneminder 1.34 database into the new installation. I ran zmupdate.pl and ran into problems. I then, using iconnor's post, ran: zmu...

Re: OPT_USE_AUTH Locking Out Users
So I enabled additional logging... and it seems to be the login page isn't sending back to the server the username and password. I attach the screenshots of what I see. In the browser, when I am going to login as admin, and put in the password, I hit enter. The logs show "User: none". Coul...

Re: OPT_USE_AUTH Locking Out Users
So, some progress. I grabbed a new PC. I installed from scratch Debian 10 Buster. I then followed these instructions to install Zoneminder. A fresh install of Zoneminder came up. Three user accounts were tested (admin, user1, and user2). When I activated Options > System > enable OPT_USE_AUTH, the Z...

OPT_USE_AUTH Locking Out Users
Hello, I am running Zoneminder v1.34.22 on a Debian10 Buster machine. My problem is that when I enable login, I get locked out. Cameras are working, and everything is good. I want to force logins in order to access the cameras/Zoneminder. If I go Options > System > enable OPT_USE_AUTH, I lock out my...

Re: Performance Issues? Cams? Server?
Sounds like you filled up /dev/shm df -h /dev/shm By the way, your screenshot is not from a recent version of 1.35. I'll check /dev/shm! Regarding v1.35... wow... sorry on my part. I thought I was on the latest. I'll upgrade today (if time permits). So far, Zoneminder is awesome. Thanks to everyone...

Re: Performance Issues? Cams? Server?
And there's probably some others I could think of. Thank you for taking the time to post this up! I had to re-read because of my n00bness, yet there are some things that make a lot of sense. I'll try the modect on the substream... that is awesome. And also, I think some cams can do record... no nee...

Performance Issues? Cams? Server?
Hello! Using ZoneMinder 1.35 super happily for two months now. I have two Reolink cameras. In the cameras themselves, they're set at 2048x1536 and 2 fps. In Zoneminder, I have them at 2048x1536 via RTP/Unicast. I added a third Reolink camera, and I couldn't get it to show up. All configurations were...

Re: VPN vs HTTPS?
Thanks for the feedback everyone. Yet question: For VPN, I would then be setting up port-forwarding on my home router. If that IP address changes, I can't hit it directly via IP. So maybe a "dynamic DNS" service? Question: What about setting up a small VPS (say a 5$/month Linode) that host...

VPN vs HTTPS?
Hello, I'm starting my first ZoneMinder installation. It's a small testing setup at my home. I'd like to be able to access the camera(s) via ZoneMinder from the outside. What's the "best practice"? Can I "publish" ZoneMinder via port-forwarding on my router? Obviously with https ...
