Re: Proxmox setup - External storage, write to root

I don't know Proxmox. If its debian (or systemd based) try something like 'systemctl restart zoneminder'. Not sure how the php service is named. Try 'systemctl list-unit-files |grep php' to get the service name and do the same (systemctl restart php). Once the services got restarted they should re-p...

Re: Proxmox setup - External storage, write to root

Maybe Sambas overmount shows up too late (boot order) so Zoneminder picks up the previous path. Try to restart the Zoneminder/PHP/Webserver/CGI services manually. If that helps, change the ZM service to start after Samba.

Re: Proxmox setup - External storage, write to root

What version of ZM is this? Edit: Nvm.. its on the screenshots. The "32GB" are very likely taken from the rootfs. I'm running on LXC and havn't seen such behavior so far. If files are landing properly on the drive its probably a virtualization issue or the way ZM picks up the data. I guess...

Re: Don't install zoneminder

I once had such an issue when some perl modules were mixed up with AUR and CPAN releases. Try to uninstall the module and cleanly re-install it.

Re: Multiple servers

If i'm not wrong, Zoneminder still runs on RGB that involves YV12->RGB conversion. That costs a lot. I can remember back in the days when Avisynth was upgraded to work natively in YV12. It was a massive speed gain. But 12 cameras is an impressive count nevertheless. I can barely run one 2160p camera...

Re: Zoneminder does not start in the running state after reboot

/etc/init.d is the old init system. Mint should have systemd nowadays i guess. You either have to create a systemd service starting that script or you install a native zoneminder systemd script. Something like this: https://github.com/ZoneMinder/zoneminder/blob/master/distros/ubuntu2004/zoneminder.s...

Re: Why ImageBufferCount 101 for 50/I-Frames?

Thanks, its 720p for ZM then for now and the camera will do the 4k recording. Motion detection quality is not coming close to ZM though. Everything has a price. I'm currently recording 720p/h264/20fps/modect in a 1.5GB tmpfs folder. Keeps events for ~24-48h. Edit: I've setup a dual stream setup (ana...

Why ImageBufferCount 101 for 50/I-Frames?

Hallo, i have a 4k/20fps/h265 stream that has I-frames every 50 frames. I cannot change this (its h/w restricted). Zoneminder demands an ImageBufferCount 101 for this streams. But why? Wouldn't 51 be enough? The problem is it would be 3840×2160×3×101=2513MB and i'm short on RAM. Is there anything i ...

Re: zombie event?

Have you tried deleting the 484 folder manually on hdd? Usually ZM cleans up automatically after some time but i had such an incident as well in the past. The entry is in the database but something seems to hold it up. I guess it should vanish after some time once the 484 folder on hdd is gone.

I think you should better open a new thread with your individual Linux system description as this is very likely a completely different system here.

Re: Use of MMX instructions?

I think that's obsolete. It's probably from a time where 'jpegs' were used for motion recording. Today Zoneminder is using 'ffmpeg' that automatically detects CPU features.

How to schedule audio recording?

Hallo, i want to record 24h modect but only 12h with audio. Could this be done with 'Profiles'? If not, would it be possible to set the option manually in the database by shell with a cronjob? What's needed to get such changes into effect? A restart of the whole Zoneminder service or is there any le...
